    I'd like to create an html file where I can pass as a parameter, the link to various image (.jpg) files (such as webcam images) that are out there on the web. The reason I'd like to do this is so that I can view webcam images in blazer without having to bring up the entire pages that host the webcam images.

    To explain further, if you go to any webcam page and right click on the image, and select properties, you will get the full link to that image. On the Treo, I like to go to these images directly, so I don't get all the frames and junk, but just the image. I can then refresh the image manually on the treo.

    This used to work swell on the Treo 300, but with Blazer 3 on the Treo 600, blazer wants to download the image, rather than just display it, when you go to a URL that points directly to a .jpg.

    Here's what I'd like some help in creating. I want to create a simple html file where I can pass a parameter to it. For example, I would put this URL into the Treo 600 Blazer address line:

    http://www.mysite.com/showimage.html...page/image.jpg

    Notice I'm passing a parameter (param1), after the "?", as the URL of a .jpg on the web somewhere that I want to display.

    The html page (showimage.html), would use javascript I assume to parse the parameter (param1) and then show that image with an img tag proabably like the following:

    <img src=param1>

    Are there any web page experts who can provide the html code to do this? I've searched frontpage doc and google and can't find an answer. Thanks a lot for any help!

    Perfect, Alex! Could you please post the source to your asp page? I've got to learn asp. I do a lot of programming in Vis FoxPro and am trying to break into .net. Did you do that in asp.net or just asp? Thanks again!

    no problem, I used ASP, it's very simple, as you will see:

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Image display for mharpen</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    Displaying: <% =Request.QueryString("param1") %>
    <P>
    <IMG SRC="<% =Request.QueryString("param1") %>" BORDER=0>

    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    Thanks again! Alex. My hosting service doesn't use IIS so I have to find another host. I should anyway since I want learn .net and post some live web sites. Anyway, in the meantime, do you know how to do the same thing with cgi script? Is it possible in cgi script? TIA!

    Hi,

    PHP should work on your server, in which case try this:

    http://www.bh.qc.ca/treo/image.php?p...es/tc_logo.gif

    source:

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Image display for mharpen</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    Displaying: <? print($HTTP_GET_VARS["param1"]); ?>
    <P>
    <IMG SRC="<? print($HTTP_GET_VARS["param1"]); ?>" BORDER=0>

    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    Alex, you are the MAN!!! Thank you so much! I modified the php slightly in case anyone else is interested in using it also. Really appreciate your sharing this. Enjoy your holidays. Mark

    </--show.php>
    </-- Pass a link to an image. it can then be shown on the treo without having to download the image>
    </-- Example: http://www.mysite.com/show.php?image....com/image.jpg >
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Treo image display page</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <IMG SRC="<? print($HTTP_GET_VARS["image"]); ?>" BORDER=0>
    <br>
    <? print($HTTP_GET_VARS["image"]); ?>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    Happy Holidays all!!!

    First of the basics - never programed anything since university (anyone remember fortran 77)

    anyway what you have descibed is exactly what I want to do but need some much more basic instructions

    The plan is to have a web cam on my home running whilst I am away. Knowing I would need to host this somehow what would be a simple way to do this? - I have no experiance with front page or any of the other ways to get a persoanl website

    Once I get my images on a site howwould I use the instructions in this post to view images on Treo 600

    I know this a lot to ask but perhaps the holidays would make some kind sole take pity on me and provide some pointers
