Hi. I recently found a Nokia ringtone I want (the Stark Trek Communicator sound at http://www.mrtones.com/ringtones/nok...municator_.htm) and was wondering if anyone has any experience using mTones to transfer Nokia ringtones from SMS into your Treo 600. Any good/bad experiences to share?

    btw, mTone is at:

I saw this application mentioned in another thread, went to the site and it looked promising. The problem with the demo is that it won't save a downloaded ringtone, so it is hard to really know if it would work. In any case, I figured it isn't particularly expensive, so I bought it. Only after, when perusing the manual, did I notice that buried in the FAQ it mentions that it only works with monotone ringtones. I then tried to download a ringtone from T-Mobile by saying that I had a Nokia phone. The ringtone never was sms'd to me. Unclear whether I will be charged. So my initial experience is at strike two. I'm going to try again shortly and will hopefully have better news.

Sorry for the two day delay, but I found a site to download a ringtone, tried it, it was sms'd to me but upon receipt my screen started to flicker between the mtones screen, sms screen and phone app. Only two ways to stop it - press the center nav button which played the ringtone (but wouldn't stop) and a soft reset. I sent an email to motionapps support which has not yet responded. My advice is to not use this application.
However, Xingtones sounds promising. Go to http://www.xingtones.com. And it is free (for now).
