Any comments on this new case from Bellagio? I like the fact I can use my cradle without removing the phone from the case.

Mine arrived yesterday. The manufacturer claims that the Mod B case allows insertion of the T6 into the cradle with it on (The case, that is).

    Not so, IMHO.

With my T6 in the case, I retracted the lower end of the posterior case wall flap as instructed, and proceeded to place the treo in the cradle. I could NOT. The treo would not sit flush with the cradle interface.

Has anyone else had success with placing their treo with the mod B case on? If so, pray tell what you did to be successfull.

AFAIC, I'm getting a Vaja Classic.

'Nuff said. (Totally pissed off at case)

My case should arrive Jan 2. I'll check the cradle fit issue and let you know what I determine.

Have you contacted Bellagio about the Cradle "miss"- fit?

    mszatny,

No, I haven't. I was hoping to poll the treocentral forum for anyone who had used the case to find out their experience. Pls. let me know how you get on with yours.

    BTW, Merry Xmas!

Could you post some pics if you get a chance? The shots on the Bellagio website don't really give much of the design differences from the original version.

Here are some pics of the Bellagio Mod B:

You'll notice that the treo sits in a peforated sleeve of sorts. The only way I was able to sit the treo flush in the cradle was by pushing the sleeve off the treo's exterior.

Just got the case today...everything seemed fine until I tried to charge in the cradle. Proper contact is not made and treo will not operate in the cradle with the case on.

I'm going to email Bellagio right now!

    Bellagio's Reply:
    -------------------------------
"Thanks very much for your email and comments. I have notified our design
department and they are looking into this issue.
We have sold thousands of this model without problems and all cases are cut
    from the same pattern.
But obviously there is something amiss and we are investigating. In the
meantime, please return your case and we will replace it immediately.

We apologize for this problem and will ensure your complete satisfaction."
    ---------------------------------------

I think I found the reason why the case can't be used with the cradle. The cradle has two "Guide Rails" to the left and right of the connection point. these "Rails" align with two slots on the corners of the Treo600. The Leather Case prevents the "Rails" from entering the Treo slots when placed in the cradle, Thus preventing full insertion.

I sanded down the rails on the cradle...and now (with some careful positioning) I can maintain a consistant connection while the Treo is in the Cradle. Not the best solution....I'll wait to hear/see what Bellagio does regarding this issue.

My case just arrived. If I push the Treo really hard it will connect to the cradle. But the slightest jarring and the connection gets broken. I wouldn't trust doing a sync with the case on.

For those who have tried this case:

How easily does the Treo slide in and out of the case? If it's easy to remove and replace, then the cradle issue may not be a big deal to me.

Also, how close does the belt clip version sit to your body? Does it flop around, or does it hold pretty firmly up against your hip?

    Thanks,
    Bob Meyer
I'm out of my mind. But feel free to leave a message.

The T600 slips pretty easily into and out of the case...but the whole idea behind this case was to be able to use the Cradle with the T600 cased. If you plan on removing the phone from the case for sync/charge...you may as well get a differant case.

At this point I pretty satisfied with the way the T600 fits in the Cradle....after I made some modifications to the Cradle (see above post)

Belt clip seems pretty standard. The phone does "flop" a bit depending on the tightness of your belt. My previous case...Nushell with beltclip (differant style clip than Bellagio)...was a much closer fit while attached to my belt.

    mszatny,

    Glad it's working for you.

It's just that I don't see why I have to 'deface' my cradle, just so I can use a product that was advertised to be used in the T6's cradle "as is".

I went out and bought a Vaja Classic. While it does not support the 'synching treo in cradle with case on' feature, I at least got what I paid for:

A good looking brown leather case with pockets for my SD cards, and a snug fit around the T6 at that.

    Cheers,

Since the top "retainer" is the cover flap, if mine is not covered, I find that the Treo easily slides out of the case when you push on the bottom (to attach hot sync etc)

I've also noticed that mine may have "molded" the leather to fit it incorrectly as the bottom does not fit that snugly and the hotsync connector hole doesnt line up completely.
    Pete
