    So far I love the Treo600, but one of the features I loved in my old cell phone was being able to program in my work voicemail number with pauses and password....then I just press one number, much like the regular voicemail number used by Sprint.

    Example it would be something like

    555-1111pp813-333-2222pp4590

    breaking that out it's like this:

    Voice mail number
    pp = pauses
    area code plus work number
    pp = more pauses
    password

    Well, I called Sprint and they said the phone doesn't have this feature, which I find hard to believe. If it doesn't, does anyone know of a good program that would work?

    Taken from the owners manual: see #7

    4. Choose the Types pick list, then select Speed Dial.
    5. Enter a label for the favorite:
    If the entry is for an existing contact, choose Lookup. Start typing the

    the Lookup list.
    If the entry is for a new contact, type the Label, press Down and

    You need to use a comma for pause. Works fine.

    Thanks peeps, I missed that part.

    The funny thing is I called Sprint's tech support and they said it's not possible.

    Now all I have to do is get Voice Recording ability and I will be set.

    again, thanks for the info.

    Well, I see how the "extra digits" work, but I can't seem to get the pauses to work.

    Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

    I'm using the comma above the "M" key.

    Ok, so for you Sprint peeps out there, there seems to be an additional step that the GSM users don't have to do.

    You need to go to the Phone Preferences and uncheck the "enable short DTMF tones"

    I'm not sure what that function does and if someone knows that I'm losing some other feature, let us know.

    But after I did that, the "comma" as pauses worked great.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Thanks for the tip on UNCHECKING the ENABLE short DTMF tones ....I couldn't figure out why the commas didn't work. This fix was perfect.....

    I'm also curious what feature I may be missing by changing this.

    After posting the thanks for the "comma" tip I saw this note also posted here....just FYI to those still working on this....

    Tip: Some older voicemail and IVR systems do not work with the default short DTMF tones sent by Treo 600. If your extra-digits fail to be recognised or you cannot adjust the timing accurately enough to get a response, we recommend turning off the option in Phone Preferences called Enable Short DTMF Tones.
