    Has anyone tried them :

    http://www.unlockyourgsm.com/catalog...products_id=54

They claim to be able to do it . And they accept Paypal, which offers buyer protection.
Any expirience/feedback will be highly appreciated. I bought AT&T Treo, but want to move to T-mobile, but the phone I bought from Handspring is for AT&T - and seems to be locked, also it has AT&T logo , when turned on - is there any way to reset it to handspring logo

Did you buy the phone already activated from AT&T? I take it that you are beyond the 14-day window of time for return?

I asked them if they could do 2 for a discount off the total price (I have a t68i I want unlocked for a friend)

Let's see, at 7pm Brian from unlockyourgsm.com sent me an email saying I can Paypal him 34.99 and my IMEI number. of my Treo.

At 11pm I got an email with 3 FREAKING STEPS!!!!!

Step 1, turn phone one, hahahaha

Ok 2 steps left, one string of numbers and hit dial.

You get a nice message "SIM Locked Removed..." or something like that.

Email Brian, very nice good, BEYOND QUICK TURNAROUND!!!!

And my t68i costs only $20, but reqs s/h, but that's ok.

BTW - This forum rocks (And is bleeding my wallet ) ... Already bought stuff from DansCellular on eBay (cradle, usb charger and case) ... then bought the ProClip for my car (and also one for my iPod) just today!!!

BTW - Unlocking the phone won't get rid of the AT&T intro/goodbye screens.

I recall there being postings on how to customize those!

For now I'm like you, pondering jumping from AT&T to TMo. (I just can't jump ship cause their data plan is outta whack... their CS hasn't pissed me off and their coverage is amazing in my area)

But maybe March when everyone has portability and ATT still has no competative (TMo, Sprint) data plans, I'm out and can take my Treo with me

I have the Cingular unlocked phone on AT&T. Does anyone think I should buy the AT&T version and have it unlocked or keep the one I have?

    Thanks in advance!

It's the same phone. The only difference is on the back of my ATT phone is an ATT part number and barcode.

I just waited for the ATT version of the Treo so they wouldn't screw me on tech support if I needed it. But I've changed the startup/shutdown screen just like listed above (thanks horsmanp!) and I've unlocked it.

Oh, and I got that office online icon.

Though the ATT upgrade offer is still valid for a few more days, you could get an ATT one for $399 and unlock it for $40 more!

Make sure you install aqua not aqua2 and do it wuth the phone radio off. Other wise it messes up because the file is in use.

My dial pad looks way better!!

I placed an order last night and this morning I got an email with instructions and 4-digit code. the instructions said to try the code few times untill it says lock removed. I tried to enter the code 3 times with wireless mode off and it didn't work, then I turned wireless mode on and entered the code and it "SIM lock successfully removed", so i don't really know if it was 4-th attempt or or wireless has to be on. I will try to test it today or tomorow with my friends t-mobile SIM with.

Here is the e-mail i received:

Quite obviously it is the fact that you had not turned on the wireless mode which caused your previous three attempts to fail.

Has anyone gone through the process of using their serial # to get the ATT upgrade price without having an ATT plan? I have TMO and would love to take advantage of the $399 upgrade offer and then unlock via the people in this thread. Do you think it will work or will I waste my serial #? Thanks.

I ordered an upgrade ATT phone from Handspring, without having a data plan from them at the time (although I was, and still am, an ATT customer). The phone arrived with an ATT sim installed which I then activated over the phone with ATT. If you did the same, and then unlocked it, it ought to work with another carrier's SIM. But of course I haven't tried that part.

I don't have a plan with any US company and I have had no problem in ordering two Treo600s (one each of Cingular and ATT) under the upgrade plan.
All you have to do is simply select that you already have service from ATT and place your order, this way they won't sign you up for an ATT plan. You should have no problem, I just ordered one not more than a few hours ago.

The comments for your order are

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent purchase.
Due to the high volume of unlock requests we have received for the TREO 600 - there is a backlog on receiving the unlock codes from the manufacturer.

As stated in our sales ad, it can take up to 72 business hours for the unlock to complete. We are working hard to get the unlock situation sped up, but with any new unlock option, there is a chance of a backlog.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope you understand this brief delay.

    Thank you,

    Brian

Has anyone successfully used another companies SIM on the "Unlocked AT&T Treo 600"? I mean not just unlocked the phone but actually also used it successfully with a different sim.I really need to knwo because I am ordering the phone from Handspring for it to be brought to India and used here and I am doing this solely based on the expectation that I will be able to buy an unlocking code from this company.
