Does anyone know if theres a way to upload pictures taken with the Treo to an FTP server? I have a picture blog, and it would be nice to upload the pictures to post them. Another thing that would be nice is if I could get a program to resize the pictures. Any ideas?

Sure you can FTP them. I have a PHP page that makes a photo album for my use.

As far as resizing them...I'd try Darkroom. I have the PHP script resize mine but that doesn't actually help the photo as far as quality.

What's the name of the program that you use to ftp?

I started to use textamerica.com, you email your photo plus a blog. It's free and customizable. I just don't have a data plan (paying AT&T right now per KB) and until I decide which one I won't send too many pics.

mine is http://vikrampant.textamerica.com all I got is my desk at work. It's neat though, the idea of camera phone and blog.

I found one that works with my blog software on my website. I find that much better, though not 100% stable like textamerica. It's called mfop2 ... you email the website and you allow it to modify your blog on your own site and it incorporates just fine. I was able to send this (http://www.vikrampant.com/treo600/20...k_at_work.html) without any trouble.

I am trying differend blog software... but if the ftp exists, I'd love to know about that one and play with it.

But first and foremost is to call AT&T and get on a data plan so I don't pay by KB.

I found that if you take a pic at large (640x480) and just force in the img src tag to width=320 height=240, it looks good even though it loads the larger image and resizes on the page and not the actual image.

VFSFTP is what I use. There is also a free version of EzFTP on www.freewarepalm.com

I like the concept of textamerica, but I have my own site, and I'd like to upload the pictures manually to my ftp. I don't want to email them. Now all I need is a program for the Treo that I can use to resize the images.

Yep, VFSftp is what you want:

You can find the older freeware version on freewarepalm.com FYI. Also, another gem is SmbMate which is a great SMB/CIFS-over-TCP/IP client for Palm OS...and its free!

Nice! Although I can't find SMBmate anymore.

Hmmm... seems like Smbmate is no longer freeware!

Google around, you probably can still find it somewhere...
