    See http://www.pocket-tunes.com/purchase.html

    If you get Deluxe today you will get all future upgrades free. Wait till after today and who knows. I missed unlimited free upgrades with Snappermail. I'm buying deluxe now and I don't even have a Treo 600 yet .

    I'd buy it TODAY, but according to the website, it says Buy before 11/30/03 and receive unlimited upgrades

    That makes me think it expired YESTERDAY. Anyone have any more info? The clocks ticking if it still is good today.

    The bottom of the page says:

    Yes, unlimited
    (special offer expires 11/30/03)

    Think I am going to give it a shot.

    Me = Nokia 5170/Palm III > Kyocera 6035 > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 700p > Treo 755p > Treo Pro > Palm Pre

    Wife = Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 755p > Palm Centro > Palm Pixi

    It would not make sense to end the offer on the day before the last day of a month. Especially when both days are on a weekend. I was going by the wording at the bottom of the page. Heck it's good software. Free lifetime upgrades is only a plus and today is the last day to debate over it.

    I printed a copy of the page just in case though. Cause if they don't want to give me future updates I'm going to be pointing out what the bottom of the page says. I think they simply made a grammer error at the top of the page.

    How does this compare to Aeroplayer which I already have. Not sure if it is worth getting a second mp3 player. Thanks.
    I also just ordered a Treo 600 and am waiting.

    The deluxe version doesn't seem to offer much value over the basic version. With the basic version, you can select all the songs in a folder or folders and play them. You can't crossfade like a radio station and you can't put bookmarks in audio books. But this doesn't seem like much functionality for the money. Am I missing something? Does the deluxe version have an equalizer or something that could potentially add to the enjoyment of mp3s?

    only the deluxe version supports shoutcast streaming..probably the main reason to buy the deluxe version

    Here's the Basic vs. Deluxe comparison in the attached .gif I don't have the Treo 600 yet (awaiting shipment) but I do have a Tungsten C. I just ordered Pocket Tunes Deluxe.

    Yea.. I bought the Deluxe version just for Shoutcast streaming, which surprisingly works very well.
  13. #13
    What kind of sustained bitrates are you getting from the Shoutcast streams?
  14. #14
    Most any of the Shoutcast servers set up for 56k have worked okay for me.

    D'oh... I was away for the Thanksgiving holiday and didn't read this thread until a day too late! Darn!

    Hope they offer lifetime registration deals again at a later date...
    (especially since so many of us don't have our treo 600's yet! )
