When you have your dial pad set as the default in "Display options" you get your image, and no buttons on the bottom, just the 4-way options.

When you have wallpaper displaying instead of the dial pad by default, you get your wallpaper, but when you choose to view the dial pad, you get 3 buttons on the bottom, no time display, and its stretched out.

In the phone app go to display prefs, and pull drown any of the 5-way options (up, down, etc.). You will see it in the drop-down list. If you assign it, you will be able to see it.

FYI - resource 1352 is the up-button image for the star and pound buttons and 1353 is the down-button image for the star and pound buttons.

I also have a version of the aqua skin that has blue number buttons but star and pound are silver. All of the buttons get a few shades darker when pressed.

    Here's a screenshot...

    Anybody want it?

Why would anyone do that, because of wallpaper?
It has less info than the phone app itself?
Plus, don't you have to go to the phone app anyway in order to even get to the nav arrow you assigned it to?
Even with the arrow assigned to dialpad however, I see no ditehering. I wonder if I need a wallpaper installed in order to reproduce.

Bring on the skins! I love the Aqua, but hit me with the grey buttons

So I loaded a wallpaper, assigned the left arrow to dial pad and tried it - no dithering on the sim. Are you sure about this?

    Thanks.

I'm calling this version Aquaskin 2 (aren't I creative?) anyway, here it is:

    http://treo600essentials.com/skins/aquaskin2.zip

Here's the preview for those who missed it earlier:

    http://treo600essentials.com/skins/aqua3.gif

Also, you need to install the other file in the zip (the phone_LOGO.prc) because it includes the proper envelope and #1 graphic for the dial pad. it also includes my standard "aqua-ish" carrier logos - previews below...

Here's the carrier logo preview (connecting):

Here's the carrier logo preview (disconnecting):

    Here's the Favorites preview:

    Enjoy!

Oh yeah - and don't forget to tell other people about Treo 600 Essentials!!!!

Alright guys, not that I want to sound like the nagging wife or anything, but now that you have the front yard done, mind moving on to the back? How about those FAVORITES buttons that HS put on there to look like they were drawn by a 4 yr old????

    LOL

    You guys are awesome!

Regarding the dithering of the dial pad try this to see it.

After you have installed the files and turned on the wireless mode goto another program like the calendar then come back to the phone app and checkout the dial pad... it will be dithered.

Now exit the dial pad then turn off then turn on your wireless mode from the phone app and then go back to the dial pad... no more dither!

Any idea what's going on there?

    I'm not having that problem.

Mr Mann - first of all - thanks for all the hard work on these they look awesome...

but, when I pull them up on my treo using the "dial pad" selection from the center button menu (when it is in wallpaper mode), they look a bit grainy - not as sharp as on screen or when displayed as the default. I opened the file with PRCEdit to look at the settings and noticed all the bitmaps were 8-bit

should they be 8- or 16-bit, or does it not matter?

also, I now have 2 phone.prc's listed - one in ROM and one not... I am assuming the one in ROM is the original, and if I ever need to revert back (never gonna happen anyhoo) I could simply delete the file not in ROM, correct?

You're welcome , we both spent all day on it.

Mine look EXACTLY like the screenshots. Who's version are you using? Mine is all the images with instructions, Dereks I believe is a .prc file which you may need to edit. That PRCedit program seems to be a little funny. I'm sure his are intended to look very clean too, but it definetely should be imported as a 16-bit image.

In anycase, if you are using my files, it's very important that you read the instructions a few pages back. The file's should be 16-bit, but that's a setting YOU need to set if you are doing a complete install. Good luck, I gotta go. Trust me, it looks REALLY nice when you take the time to do it right. Peace.
