The cases are not the problem here folks. There's been a few threads on this topic. The problem is that HS should have an option to disable the spacebar from answering the call. The center nav button should suffice - because it is slightly recessed, a case would less likely push the center button to answer a call while being pulled out. Any case (even the slipcase it came with) can answer a call if you tilt it the wrong way while pulling the 600 out because the spacebar gets pressed. Just MHO. Let's get HS to include this option when the firmware rev comes out.

Totally agree. I am using the iPod case and until I read this thread, I could not figure out how my phone was answering before I pulled it out. I have everything disabled, but sure enough the space bar is apparently above the law when it comes to key lock. Wake up HS - either make a holster that will not have this problem or give us a new feature to disable that key!!
    yep.

I got my Vaja case as well and discovered the same problem all of you have.

My case was $100 with shipping! This bites... May I ask where you found the foam with tape on one side? The case is beautiful except for this problem.

I got an email from Vaja today. They are going to send me a replacement case with the fix for the spacer button problem. It will be interesting to see how they fixed the problem.
The only pain is I have to pack the old case up and ship it back. I don't even return stuff I buy back to the stores!

I just wrote Vaja myself...since they are willing to take ours in trade for a new one, I'll leave well enough alone and do it that way, instead of tinkering with sticky foam and messing up that nice leather surface.

This is the reply I got from Vaja!!! This is not acceptable:

    Jeff,
The problem you are having with the case at the very beginning, may be
connected with the fact the leather is too tight and needs to be stretched.
We always produce all our cases with a very tight fit at the beginnig
because leather is a flexible material that stretches with time and use.
If we produced them with a different fit, they would bacome too loose after
a while. Here I send you some tips that will help you: take the bare case
with both hands, one from the flip top and the other from the base and
    twist it pulling gently outwards.
To insert the case, put the forefinger across the handheld's top and press
it all the way down into the case. you can also help it to reach the bottom
by pushing firmly but carefully from top of the device. Also hold the
leather strap where the snap is placed taking it with one hand from the
seam in the lid and then with the other hand from the top where the snap is
placed, and then try to stretch it with both hands. This will allow more
space between the lid and base of the case and the problem will be solved.
Please repeat this many times if necessary. Remember that you should let
some time pass since only time and use will make your case fit perfectly.
    Thank you very much

    Best regards

Not acceptable indeed. I think a few hundred emails a day should have them changing their case design slightly...

Here's the reply I got. I am going to go to Michael's and see if I can get something for this problem (Michael's being the hobby store for crafts stuff here in Atlanta).

    Jeff,
At the very beginning we thought that may be the leather strap will be too
tight and this may have been causing the problem, so we promised some
customers to produce a new case with the snap leather strap a little bit
longer, which would also be possible to solve with some stretching by the
customer. We are testing this now to see if it works, but according to the
research we have been doing, the problem is not in our case particularly,
since anything external that may touch lightly this key will activate the
autoanswering function easily, not only our case. We would suggest trying
to get the leather stretched so that you allow more space between the lid
and base, to avoid this thing. It is also important not to apply any
pressure to the case while carrying it.
Anyway, we will go on with our tests to see if a definite solution can be
reached so we will let you know if this happens

    Best regards
