is there a way to disable the chat thread function in SMS mode?

So that each incoming txt gets saved as or gets its own line

in addition is there a way to make sure that sent SMS messages are not saved at all?

    Bump!

I hate the T600's chat version of SMS. Anyone know how to get back to the 180/270/300's email style format?

Chat thread is annoying. You can't save important messages seperately from others, and if you delete one, you have to delete them all!!!!

...cause I love the chat thread thing. You can kinda keep track of what's been said and feels more natural. But I guess it does suck if you want a msg saved on its own. How about copying and pasting it into memo (orn where ever you prefer!)

this is not completely exact. you can delete each message from the chat thread without deleting the thread itself.
from my experience (but still to test 100%):
if you respond to a incoming message, a chat thread will be automatically created. if you delete your reply only (from inside the thread), the chat thread will disappear and will be replaced from the normal 'single' message.
but, and this is a weird thing, it can also happen that the chat thread is still there even if you delete ALL the messages in it!!! (maybe this happens when you delete the original incoming message first and, only afterward, your reply).
anyway, as said before, i still have to verify this. in any case, you can delete single messages from within the thread.
