    Hi there,

I'm living in Singapore and realised that my screen was shifted slightly to the left.
Checked around and all the units I have seen here have the same problem.

In detail, the lit up 160x160 square is closer to the left edge of the glass than the right. The space on the left =0.5mm and that on the right=2.0mm

Rather unhappy that their manufacturing tolerances are so poor and wanted to get a nice centred unit... so

I then emailed my local distributor about this and this is the half-f*cked reply i got...(see below) wouldn't you get pissed?

Anyway, wonder if any of you guys out there using the GSM version has this problem?

    appreciate it

    Dear Sir,

That is the way that all the units are aligned. This is the same for all other units.

    Thanks,

I worried about the same thing....thought mine was defective. It turns out that's the way they're designed.

es, that is the way it is
    upposed to be.

    hey are all
    esigned like that.

he backlighting is on the right
f the screen so a little more room
    as needed.

    They all look this way.

If you would have done a search, you would have found this thread, and this thread which addresses your question.

I didn't check it out before I posted it ...

I hit Search and entered "Treo 600 screen shift" and these came up. Have tried to get the url right, can't figure it out

    Hope this helps ...

    it's ok bro.

I only wanted to know if this was an isolated rpoblem.

Does ANYONE out there have a perfectly centred screen?

All I need is one person out there who has a properly centred unit to mess with the local distributor a bit.

Please post a pic or email one of the screen if you can

    Tks!

I asked the same question somewhere and was pointed at this FAQ on the Handspring US site.

Basically it was an intentional design compromise.

    tks,

I suppose the hardware guys just couldn't fit it in any better.

I am now appeased, although the reply i got was unforgiveable terse and unhelpful.

I'm still peeved at the local support

I know that the screen is supposed to be off center, but does anyone else have a screen that seems to be off a little? Mine seems to be rotated about 1-2 degrees counterclockwise. I can't really tell though. Since it was intentionally designed to be off center, it's hard for me to tell if it's really rotated counterclockwise. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else has the same problem.
