I've been trying to use Yahoo Movies feature for the past few days without success. I've been logging in through http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw

No matter what I do I get the listing from October 2nc. It refuses to update to the current movie listings. I've tried using Blazer from my Treo 600 and AvantGo synching. I've also tried from pesonal computers both Mac and PC (Safari and IE). I've tried different Yahoo accounts (at least 3). I've also tried different zip codes (from WI, CA and TX). I've tried deleting cookes and clearing history. I went to Avant go and cleared out my cookies.

No matter what I do the listing refuse to update beyond October 2nd. Interestingly all other feature (weather, news, sports) all give current content. Of course, Yahoo's main site is giving the right movie listings.

Is anyone else having this problem? Could people check their Yahoo movies listings and confirm a problem?

Could someone please confirm whether Yahoo Movies (http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw) is giving current listings? Preferably via a wireless sync in AvantGo or Blazer? But I'd settle for anything.

    Thanks

I was having the same problem. Are you using a Treo 600?

Some of the websites I had used on my Treo 300 are on the PCS Vision Homepage.

For example, go to CNN To Go and they ask you for a carrier. Yahoo would not work unless I used the PCSV homepage link. ESPN would not load unless I went thru the same home page.

It makes me wonder if the carriers (esp. Sprint) went to these guys and had them pay for the privelege of a link. Same with HS.

Did you notice these are the Favorites you can't delete? I smell revenue based web marketing for these companies. "Oh, BTW, we have a deal with XYZ carrier and everytime they go to your site they have to go thru ours. We can deliver hits to you reliably. We want $X,XXX,XXX per year for this. Want to sign up?" Then they take it and sell it to their advertisers.

I feel spam and telemarketing via our cell phones just around the corner. The National Do Not Call list does not include cell numbers, I beleive.

    Hmmmmmm ... makes you think.:shortcut:

Thanks for the comments, but I'm curious specifically about Yahoo Movies being stuck on 0ctober 2nd listings.

From any devices (T600, PC, Mac) using the mobile portal I just wanna know if everyone's movie listings are stuck.

    NicholasX,

    I logged into:
    http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw

It looks as though Yahoo may be re-directing the web address to a "Vision Enabled" page. I see Vision referneced at the bottom of the page and allows for selection of links by using the 1 thru 0 keys of the keypad.

Get Local ---> Movies ---> Theatres.

I compared it to: http://movies.yahoo.com and the WAP site is referencing some old movies like Seabiscuit - although I do not see any date it may be using as reference on the WAP site.

So, yes... I can confirm that the listing are srong from my Treo 600 too using the above site.

Dave thanks for checking it out. At least I know that I'm not going insane. It would appear that Yahoo really is having diffuclties. Here is their official (though generic) reply:

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mobile.

As you've noticed, we're currently experiencing some technical
difficulties. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
Please be assured that we are aware of this problem and working to fix
    it as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Whatever the problem was, the Yahoo AvantGo portal now works correctly. Movies are showing the current listings and dates.

The WAP portal is working now too.

Sounds like you don't have the T600. Yahoo presents a different site for the T600 from the T180/270/300 because it doesn't use a proxy.
