BTW, I have a Treo 600 and I have found that PQAs DO work - but you have to make sure you have the latest version of your desired PQA apps. I too was dismayed that the Starbucks pqa is NOT updated to work with Treo 600, but I found that the Directory Assistance app DOES work. You can find the latest directory assist app at:

    http://home.triad.rr.com/dwhitt/palm

Then you will have not only the ability to locate Starbucks anywhere, anyp place, using directory assistance, but it will dial it for you and map it too!

    Enjoy.

If the "local" cafes were really better, then they wouldn't go under. Starbucks certainly isn't undercutting them on prices!
Remember, Starbucks was just a "local cafe" in Seattle once.

true.... will find all the hooters locations you can imagine.... VERY good app, but kind of slow to search..... easier to use then using blazer and a internet directory tho.

Indulge yourself this summer at your local Barnes & Noble Café as they celebrate their annual Frappuccino® blended beverage Festival. Through July 22, simply present this special in-store coupon when you purchase a tall Starbucks® Frappuccino® blended beverage and we'll give you a second one on the house.

So stop by today and treat yourself to a cool, refreshing Frappuccino® blended beverage, available in your choice of great flavors, including the new Java Chip (caffeine) and Vanilla Bean (caffeine-free). Or try one of their Frappuccino® Light blended beverage varieties!

Here's a link to search for your local Barnes & Noble. I'd recommend selecting the checkbox for "
Only find stores with a Café". You'll have to input at least your city and state.

P.S. I've photo blogged from my Treo a lot of times while
sitting in Barnes & Noble and using the T-Mobile/Starbucks WiFi access and helping my youngest with her homework.

So exactly how do you take advantage of the T-Mobile WiFi access from your Treo? Are you using a Treo 600?

I blog from my Treo and use either Tungsten C or laptop for WiFi access.

Sorry but that is completely incorrect! First of all, the latest version of DA does not use web clippings for PalmOS 5.x devices. In fact, web clippings are entirely and completely incompatible with PalmOS 5.x and later. The reason DA works is b/c the developer adapted it to work via "Treo web" (i.e, html feed). Thus DA does not funtion as a PQA on the Treo600 and you cannot get other pqa's to work on the Treo600 no matter how update they are. The only solution to find mobile formatted alternatives (as listed in various aggregator sites like pdaportal.com) or converted apps like DA, palmprices etc...

How are you people getting Directory Assistant to work?? Every time I do a business search, I get "Error getting data: 0". I'm using Sprint T600. Thanks.

sorry, this thread did crack me up because the easiest way to find a starbuck's is to stop looking down at your treo and look up. i'm usually about 500 feet from the nearest starbuck's! on a serious note, i'll second the high recommendation for Vindigo. it's great for finding restaurants, movies, etc. it's probably the add-on program i use most on my treo.

    Hello all,

Resurecting this old thread... I am working on a project relating to store locators, and it would be really helpful if I could find some old screen shots of the starbucks locator working on a palm device back anywhere 1998-2005. I've googled and binged but am unable to locate anything. Specifically, I need a screenshot showing the starbucks icon after the application has been installed on the device (selecting it runs the application if I remember correctly). Also, how the starbucks information is displayed would also be helpful, be it on a map or just text addresses.

Can anyone suggest a resource for this? I've considered buying an old palm off ebay and getting the application running myself, but hoping for an easier solution.

    Thanks!

I'm not even sure what this is. PQA? Do you have the app? Someone here is bound to have a palmOS device. Alternatively, someone on this thread still has a website & a resume that may be relevant...

Interesting to read history from ten years ago. I have a functional z22 but not this app. I can try an install if someone has it but no device.

    However,

If you only need screen shots, why not duplicate whatever is available on android? I'm assuming they have something of course.

Since this thread is about PalmOS not webOS, its pre-Pre! I don't even know if a z22 does screen shots. Think not.
