Love the t600. One thing thats driving me crazy though. My t600 is soft reseting by itself on a somewhat regualr basis. Its does it when I am hotsyncing and once while using the phone. My t600 is running zlauncher.

    Any suggestions?

Mine seems to do this too on occasion. I've seen it several times in Verichat and also the Blazer browser.

Is this some kind of defect? A bug in the software?

Rather than have your Treo stuck on a fatal error or exception dialog, the design automatically makes your phone functional again. Older Treos would show you the dialog of the error and just wait there - now the Treo is usable right away again. If you want to trace the culprit that is unstable, use the ##377 and dial method in the phone app to see what is crashing.

With Palm OS 5 you cannot make the assumption that your old software will still run stably without an updated version.

But a fatal exception caused by "Web"?? Shouldn't the Blazer browser be rather compatible with its version of Palm OS and the T600? I'd be much more understanding of Verichat, being 3rd party and assuming they make attempts to improve performance, but the Treo's default software causing the system to crash!?

    Hello,

My phone is doing the same thing, though rather than recovering from a soft reset, it keeps resetting itself at about 2 second intervals... The only way i can get it out of this state is to do a hard reset. It has happened twice now.. In both cases, i was accessing the internet; once with AIM, the other time with "Web," or blazer. nothing like this happened on my treo 300.

    Anybody else having this problem?

    Hello,

Kevin from Handspring here. There is much information regarding fatal errors and resets, starting from this page at Handspring. The info here should be able to help you step by step in troubleshooting the problem.

    Kevin,

Thanks SO MUCH for trolling these posts and getting information out. I was having soft resets from the "Find" function, and couldn't figure it out. After checking out http://support.handspring.com/esuppo...lutionId=9134, I used the ##377 function, and it told me exactly which application was causing the soft resets. Worked like a charm! Thanks again!

    found it:

What I did was to obtain the utility "Filez" from:http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/palm/2367 (it's free). Launch it and delete the files Web Find Autofill, Web Internal Hist, and Web URL Autofill. This fixed the Blazer problem without having to do a hard reset.

    thanks to to bull something
