This is probably a very simple solution but I can't seem to find the answer.

How do I send a single file from my laptop to my Treo using infrared?

    Is there special software?

I can send from my Treo to my laptop but can't seem to reverse the process.

    Thanks,
    Dave

What Treo do you have? What OS are you running on your PC?

Using and troubleshooting IR connections are very dependent on these two variables.

Would also help if you try to describe what happens on the PC when you line up the two IR ports and beam a file from the Treo to the PC.

I'm running a Treo 600 (newest palm os) and Windows XP Pro on the laptop.

    Thanks

In that case it is simple. After you've lined up the IR ports you should be able to see a little icon in your XP system tray called Wireless Link. Actually, it should have a popup saying "Another Computer is Nearby". Double-click the icon and it will open a dialog window from which you can select the files to send.

If you're still having problems then right click the Wireless Link icon and select Properties. Go to the Image Transfer tab and uncheck "Use Wireless Link to transfer images ....etc".

I can't believe it is sooooo easy.

Thanks for the help. I'm off to create a sheep.mid file to send to my Treo as a ringtone LOL.
