After a little poking around on the new PalmOne web site - with some creative typing of different URLs - I found the web page and "placed" an order for a GSM Treo. I had to specify my carrier (AT&T) but it was an available choice - so the T-Mobile only rumor is false. While I don't expect they will ship me the phone before it is released, its nice to know that I got in line and should get one from the first batch out there.

Guess I'll have to wait for the release to know for sure if it went through - but the best part is the pages are up - "sort of" - which means that they HAVE to be close to a roll out.

    lets see the url

    Link, please.

And is it the reduced price for former Treo owners?

I will post the link I used tomorrow - if they fail to release it as we all expect. Based on the traffic to this website - if we flood the thing now - they may just void all the orders - and I wanna be first in line.

There was some link about a discount for former Treo owners - but I am not one - so I didn't follow it - I was just so surprised to find the initial page - that I wanted to see if it would accept the order. Apparently it's link to the right databases, cause the order was "accepted" We'll see if they honor it on official release day.

I went to the PalmOne web site and found no mention of anything but the tungsten and Zire families. Even did a search for Treo 600 and it found nothing.

Good luck, stanky. The sooner you post the link, the sooner the rest of us can share in your joy.

or even believe you. Sounds like bs.

I doubt the credibility of this story.

It's pretty funny that we are now hacking into their computers for the opportunity to give them a lot of money for the phone.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a good day.

A bunch of us probably just hit the palmone website - okay I'll admit I did - looking for the Treo600 needle in a haystack url. No dice.

Nice story, got my attention, wasted a few of my minutes, but no go, sorry.

Of course there is no outward link yayhoo - if there was we'd all be placing our freaking orders. Read my first post - I got a little creative - added some text at then of the URLs that were showing and hit the pages. They are there - just not actively linked to the main site -

If you had basic HTML knowledge and a little creativity you could probably figure out the URL - it's not encrypted. Hell, click on some links - see what the URL changes to - look for the patterns - and try your luck.

Damn - does your mother dress you as well as wipe your nose?

Don't care if you believe me or not - the takeaway from this post should be that the pages have been made, they are on the site, ready to be linked to the main page - and that means things are getting closer and closer to release.

    There - does that help?

This link will take you to their site without an error, but I don't see it on there. Can anyone fill in the gap?

Just using http://palmone.com/us/products/handhelds/# gets you to the same page, dude!

Assuming this isn't just BS taking advantage of us poor folks (I think its ****ty to be selfish with the URL anyway), it would have to look something like:

    http://www.palmone.com/us/products/[category]/[item]/

    For example:
    http://www.palmone.com/us/products/h...ds/tungsten-c/

If they were following Handsprings naming conventions it would be at
    http://www.palmone.com/us/products/c...cators/treo600

I've tried a couple categories and variations on the item name, but no pages are ever found.

You could try the store, but you would have to guess the internal database ID of the item, a shot in the dark.

If your not going to share this info, why bother telling people? Just to get everyone worked up or somehow show that you are smarter than everyone? Well it worked I am very impressed.

I've got a secret ... nah nah nah

    What a knob.

    Listen up, geeks:

According to Google, there's no mention of "Treo 600" on the PalmOne site.

    Check for yourselves:
