In looking at the specs, there doesn't seem to be a press button for contacts. The four seem to be:

    1) phone
    2) date book
    3) e-mail
    4) screen on/ off

    Did I read it wrong?

Contacts is a option within the Phone application. I don't know of any way to access them outside of Phone.

I thought you could remap the "screen on/off" button and change it to "contacts" in preferences under "buttons", but I just noticed you can't!

Tapping the power button on top of the phone performs the same function as the "on/off" key does, so you're not losing that capability if you remap the on/off key, but the buttons drop down menu does not include contacts as a choice. Hmmmmm

You'll need a 3rd party hack like HBX or something similar.

HBX does a lot more tho!

Just hit phone and then hit the down arrow. That's the T600 equivalent. I'm still getting accustomed to it. It's different, but it's not bad.
