It has that new and weird 18 bit screen instead of the usual PPC 16 bit. It seems to be the new fangle thing to have, only one other PPC model has such screen, and it's only sold in Taiwan.

    My sentiments exactly!

    Say what?!?! LOL

Not sure I like the split KB or the placement of the 5-way pad (a bit out of reach of the thumbs) -- but I do like the idea of a bigger landscape screen. Nice trick removing the antaena to make it fit the same form factor, but I really like the better reception my T600 affords.

It's not a trick, just an idea sport. Sooner or later you won't need an antenna like that anymore.

Mr. Man, nice idea. Did you ever see mine?

Hey, that's interesting! I like it. It's definetely a job trying to cram all this stuff into something that is still easy to use and strong.

Maybe the Treo 900 will have a keyboard that slides into the phone? Now THAT would be cool! Better start saving up now...

These are all cool designs. I don't think I would give up my 1-handed functionality. If it were just a PDA, not a problem. As a phone, the Treo 600 has hit the nail right on the head. No flipping, opening or split keyboard.

Reminds me a lot of the Tapwave Zodiac. I wouldn't like it as a phone though... not very one-hand friendly. But it would definately be cool for gaming.

Here's the Zodiac if you're not familiar with it... it's a PalmOS portable gaming device:

Correct. The Treo 600 has hit a fantastic stage.

The physical balance it has: beautiful, cute, one handed operation, weight, it got a lot of things perfect.

That physical presentation is important. Look at how much we appreciate women's bodies just for the right curves, it really does not matter if they are 160x160 or 320x320 inside their head...shape counts.

Then the next things which WILL be in there guaranteed: 320 x320, wifi, BT, 2 meg camera, voice, etc., etc., how can I guarantee them?

Simple! The competition is doing it!

Once the Palm/HS team grabs the new competition's toys they've put ito their clueless devices (without thumboard, without Palm OS) and incorporates them into its winner design, we will have the perfect device.

how does it remind you of the tapwave pda...? just because it's built horizontal than vertical...?

anyway....they can just build the treo like the nokia 3300.

they can clean it up....and i dont see what would be the problem or tryin to put it into a pda version....
