For no apparent reason an area about the size of a dime burnt out on my Treo 600 screen. I pulled the Treo out of my pocket and noticed an extra bright spot with a kind of smudge on it. Upon closer inspection, the read write screen protector actually was melted in that small erea and the pixels below were burnt. That spot now glows extra bright. I have no explanation for this. No physical trauma occured to the device. I am returning the 600 to SPCS under the 14 day rule. Then I will order a new one. Has anyone seen or heard of this?

If this is not an April's Fool post then Handspring/palmOne has a major problem on their hands.

No joke here. It seriously melted the screen cover. Never felt any heat in my pocket (too bad I think this was a fluke.

LCDs like the one in T600 develop bright spots when you heavily impact or press very hard on the screen. I think you may have done this to your Treo in your pocket, wirelessness. Fess up.

luckily, this has not happened to the majority of users the way most people have fallen off the Segway and killed that company's momentum.

I saw a friend tumble from a Segway but he was attempting something like ballroom dancing on it. It got confused and dumped him on his head. He has a scar to prove it and temporarily wounded pride.
