    Does it work?

theres been alot of discussion about how there may be problems on the cdma phone but nothing definite.

what are the programs that have been tested SUCCESSFULLY by people who already have a t600?

I'm using it and it works fine.

You can also get to AIM from the Web portal, although it's not nearly as nice to use.

it probably only works on the palm. and yeah, its not as nice as the actual software.

I tried to load the UK version at:
    http://www.aol.co.uk
under the "Mobile" section, but when I run it - it says that I registered as a "UK user"?

I am currently using the US version of AIM: Version 1.1 (build 5), the only thing that is weird is that after I send a message, it does not "erase" it from the text box. I have to manually delete it before I can can another message.

Oh well, that what you get for free software, that is "no longer supported by AOL" and not being fully OS5 compliant.

    Cheers!

I have been using the UK version of the AOL IM (Plam) client for months, and it works fine...

Did you register a new screen name? Don't just download the plam software and use your normal U.S. screen name...

    has anyone tried Mobile AIM?

It says that it forwards the messages from your home pc to your cellphone in real-time (not sure how real, though)

IMfowards.com is even better then AOL's Mobile IM. It sends to your phone AND to your email if you choose to do both. Since treo sms cuts off the messages if it gets past a certain length, I have it fwd to my email as well, so I can see the whole IM message if i wish.

right now, Sprint doesn't having messaging services turned on for the t600, so unless you have the AIM app., you won't be notified yet when someone tries to IM you (when using the online AIM) or if someone sends mail to your sprint email or when someone sends short mail.

I tried posting a short mail and an error sent back notifying me of this and that I would get a short mail when msg service is turned on.

    Just a FWIW post.

If you just want AIM forwarding I found AOL's own IM forwarding to work well.

I like this program. Its pretty nifty if you are one of those people who want to get notified even while you are AWAY mode.
