Effective 10/14, Sprint offers access to MSN Hotmail and MSN Messenger
Both accounts are accessed through the Sprint PCS Vision home deck.
    Type: General Information
Customers that have setup an account with MSN from their personal computers can now access them through a PCS Vision device using their MSN username and password.

MSN Hotmail can be accessed from the Vision home deck in two places:

    Messaging then Email
    Portals then MSN

MSN Messenger can be accessed from the Vision home deck in two places

    Messaging then Instant Messaging
    Portals then MSN.

There are also interfaces for Yahoo IM, AOL IM, Earthlink mail and some other stuff.

The "home deck" is the default home page when you bring up the Web browser, in case anybody's confused. (I was.)

Where did you read this and does anyone see this on their vision home deck? Just checked in all the places above and nothing shows up for MSN.

Thought that might be the case.

I remembered an article I read where MS was going to begin charging for wireless access to hotmail. So I thought this was kind of surprising.

Not down for me, and no changes on the vision mobile page.

The handspring WAP portal does have a hotmail link for me.

    Home->More->Messaging->Hotmail as I recall.

That said, I signed in to hotmail, which said it was currently offline

Yeah, I see that too. I was able to log in but then got an error saying I need to enable cookies to log in...however in my preferences cookies are already enabled.

If you are a Treo 600 user, just use the following portal:

    http://mobile.msn.com/pocketpc/menu.aspx

This is the portal for PocketPC. It will allow you access to your hotmail account, plus MSN mobile features like local news and weather, if you've setup your account for it.

As far as Messenger goes, I just use Verichat.

I've been using this on my Treo 300 for a while now...

That is internal communications straight from Sprint. Thanks for posting that portal link for everybody.

I still don't see hotmail as an option on this page?

I have no clue why the page has not updated yet. You all have heard that Sprint is releasing its True SMS phone-phone messaging format....too bad it comes just after I donated my 19.95 for the Treo600SMS. grief.
About the hotmail situation. I am able to just go straight to the regular hotmail site and logon that way. If your having a problem with cookies being rejected just delete the Web Cookies file off your Treo and try it.
