I just spoke on the phone today with Susan Yost (Marketing & Sales) at Handspring's Corporate office. She indicated that all 3 US GSM carriers are in the process of finalizing their own certification of the Treo 600 for their networks. According to her, Cingular will release first "sometime in October." AT&T will be available "by early November." She was not sure of the timeline for T-Mobile. She said it is possible that T-Mobile will not initially carry this in their stores, similiar to how they initially began with the 270.

On another topic, while at an AT&T store this past weekend, one of the reps indicated that within 2 months they were coming out with a phone (didn't know which manufacturer) that will allow you to watch broadcast television channels!

SCARY! half the people using cell phones now can't carry on a conversation and drive. Now they will be able to watch Jerry Springer in their car...SCARY! This is NOT progress

Thanks for the info, Nautilus Man!

While this information is great for showing that the 600 will have wide support, I am not waiting for any carrier to offer it. I'll buy an unlocked GSM version the day it comes out with Handspring's discount and use it on my T-Mobile account. I can't wait!

Handspring will sell it on their web site after the Sprint CDMA release.

Most if not ALL carrier discounts will be for NEW activations. Just look at the AT&T T300 deal.. New subcribers only!

    Hey, guys,

I have already gone to T-mobile's website and contacted them about my interest in the Treo 600. Now, I am realistic enough to realize that may not, by itself, make much difference. But if we all did, why, we'd have ourselves a MOVEMENT.

On the other hand, I am intend to stay in touch with you all as we scramble to find the unlocked GSM deal.
