Apparently someone at HS screwed up and leaked this with an autoreply.

My Contact says that this was actully invite only and she had a master list.

The place is actually a small eatery. Hopefully they will honor the autoreply, I doubt it, but it should definetly be worth a try.

Hopefully, they'll let us in. Hope to see you there.

To WeeBit or whom it may concern:

If anyone does make it to this function, can you possibly find out what regular retail channels may carry the Treo? I'm particularly interested in Best Buy, as I may have a family member in Wireless by that time and have hopes of a fat discount.

So sad, I'll probably be in New York in Novemeber, a month too late. I'd love to go to the Launch Party there! But at least I'll be able to use the Treo while I'm there in Novemeber!

Oh dear. Now I'm going to have the "Mission Impossible" theme song stuck in my head all day

I'll be there, and will try to post something on my web site immediately afterwards. Any other questions?

A while ago I got an email from HS with a cryptic message about securing my invitation from the url listed above. Luckily, it's convenient for me, and it won't be that long.

I think Walt's review is the best publicity for the 600. Everybody's getting into smartphone mode now, especially with the number portability thing and all. It just so happens that healthcare is implementing handhelds faster than any other sector, in my estimation. Look's like Microsoft dropped the ball for this year (but I have to give Bill Gates credit for giving $50M for new schools in NYC).

The Treo 600 could achieve the caché of the iPOD. Look how that's taken over the MP3 player market. I recall reading somewhere that style and design is the new "killer-app." This will be the main selling point at first glance, but the Treo line has the functionality that makes the higher price worthwhile for those interested enough to read about its features.

i would love to attend, but would i be welcome? i would be in new york and im pretty sure i will be in the area at that time.
i dont want to step on anyone`s toes here though!!

I love how I didn't get invited to this... Handspring also hasn't even told us when we will be able to get our hands on units. Do you know that the editors of this site have never even seen the Treo 600 yet?

well, miradu, i just clicked onto the link, i wasnt invited. but i wont attend if its against anyone`s wishes. you guys should be first in line before us because youve taken the pains to set up this forum. why not register yourself too?
  14. #14
I clicked the link and got the invite. I wonder if this is because I signed up as a developer with Palm and Handspring? Anyway, I just don't have the time to make it up there from Philly. Anybody want to go in my place?
  15. #15
I would love to, but I'm in Minnesota and have no plans to fly to New York for a 2 hour event . It's the thought that counts. I would say we should try to get as many TC people to go, even if they weren't invited? and show them how big we are as a forum, and the presence of our users...

    Hey,

You should try, they say that that autoreply was a mistake and that they will be checking the guest list, but maybe they wont be that careful, could be worth a try.

Regardless, I'll be there, so I'll post pics when I get back.

If you're in the area why not show up. Sometimes its better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission
