OK, I'm worse than the "john" users... I read TC all day at work, when I get home from work, and WHILE I DRIVE!

Truth be told: ONLY WHILE I'M STUCK IN THE FREEWAY PARKING LOT! Although I have been honked at many times when traffic does start moving again.

Hi, My name is Fred, and I have a problem.....

I can relate to the cardboard cut-out thing > reminds me of the days when I PINED for a Macintosh Powerbook and I created a life-size wooden model complete with detailed illustration of the screen and keyboard!

This forum allows us to get specific details, pics, etc about the product long before it's released. Wait a minute, I think that's where my problem STARTED!!!!

    Hehe.. I love this thread

I have gone through this 'mania' every few years, it started with the Visor Deluxe and you should have seen me waiting for the Treo!

But, now that I have one, this 600 is just teasing me since it was announced. Wow.. is it really only weeks away? I can't wait..

Been there, too. On the Boulevard Peripherique. If you've ever been in Paris you know what that means. I know of more quiet places to read TC (see above)

I feel really good reading today's columns.
First I have loads of confidence in Mossberg's reviews and he confirms all we have been reading .
I also thought I was the sickest geek around the way I keep checking this board a few times a day. I guess I am just one of many suffering from this syndrome!!!!
I am scheduled to go to Israel from Nov 10th to 17th and am upset that I miss the grand US introductionl. I always say that I want someone else to buy version 1.0 so I don't have to suffer the bugs, but I somehow always end up on the B-LEEDING EDGE!!!
We are obviously part of a very SICK GROUP. I feel rather certain that it will be worth the wait, but I hope it isnt too long??

You know as business person, I have to admire the way
Handspring has wetted our appetite for this thing. It is one of the greatest marketing ploys that I have ever been caught up in!!
Hopefully the Treo 600 will be as good as their marketing strategy.

Oh, is it possible for you to post a picture taken with the Treo? Or are you not allowed to do that?

Also, I was wondering about the quality of the phone component. Is it louder now? On my Treo 180 I always have to turn on the speakerphone just to talk. The handsfree one is too quiet too. Is reception clear? I get statics every now and then... and have you had any crashes?

Well I dont feel so bad now... I sit in one of my more uninteresting classes reading T|C on my T300 all the time! In fact I recently changed sections in one of my classes because it was being held in a basement classroom that must be made outta kryptonite; no one's cell will work down there, and hence I wouldn't be able to check the boards in class!! At work Im called TreoGod, and anyone who walks in my store with a treo question, either gets told to come to me, or if Im off, they just give out my number, and get told to shoot me a VM... I owe it all to T|C! Luckily i work for SPCS, so on that fabled day when I see boxes marked handspring come in from our warehouse, Ill be getting it!!! (Why I havent gotten to at least play with one by now is beyond me though...)

Hi. My name is RawData. And I'm addicted to TreoCentral....

While I'm not as addicted as others, in the two weeks I've had mine, I've filled half my bookmarks, downloaded many new apps, used my phone more than ever, gotten more organized, and become quite proficient with the keyboard.

Of course, the Treo is also great to use to check email, web, etc. no matter where you are - Dr's office waiting room, sitting in traffic, hanging out with the porcelain gods , or just about anywhere and any time...

Fortunately, there is only one step to getting off this program... RELEASE THE TREO 600!!!!

    Couple of things...
I went to the US and actually ordered the iQue.. but tvnav didnt accept my aussie visacard in retail it was too $$$. Besides that my ski trip went way over budget so money is tight this month anyway...
Also I decided to rent a car with sat-nav to check out if I like it at all... And I do, but the problem is I become to dependant on it.. Even in a small town like Pleasanton CA, I wouldnt find my way from the hotel to work without the GPS (and it was prob less than 3 miles )
So I decided to buy a garmin etrex for gecaching and skip the iQue for now....
The problem reports on PDAstr/PIC didnt worry me that much, but it was another reason to postpone my buy...

To cut a long story short, I decided to do the responsible thing and not act on impuls.... man, I'm getting old

I did meet up with a PIC user in SF and played with the iQue for a while and I have to say it looked pretty impressive

Sure... Put the Treo600 into a rocket travelling near light speed, and relative to you, it will be sped up.

    My lovely Treo
    Such function, so connected
    No need for real friends

The Orange CH in German said it supports up to 512 Mb SD cards.

Should be working, but just read whole thread. It is great. Don't consider myself a geek. Still haven't loaded firewall, haven'thooked up wireless lan eventhough I have had equiptment for 6 months.

But the Treo 300 is just a great new addition to my life. E mail in my phone with access to all my phone numbers and all dumped from a single first sync from Outlook. Heck I did not use calender until after 6 months with phone. I wasn't a palm user before just a phone user that wanted e mail on the run. Got Palm as bonus and internet.

    Cheers. Keep up good work.

You guys think you are obsessed???

After seeing the original photo of Jeff Hawkins with the Treo 600 in his hand I created a mach up that was published on TreoCentral and other sites. Imagine that: I actually created an illustration to scale because I was so curious to see what it looked and felt like???

Why do you think I wrote such a detailed article after I had an early review of the Treo 600??? I knew there was not much info out there and I wanted to share every bit of insight with the members of this forum because I realized the major historical significance of the Treo 600.

    http://www.treocentral.com/content/Stories/240-1.htm

It has been a long summer. I have met many interesting people in the forum and even Jeff Hawkins himself.

I agree with Ray, I also feel a definite sense of community with all of you. I think it is so neat that people from all over the world convene here. Treocentral is like a cyberspace coffee shop (without a tip jar) where we can chat and catch up with our Summer of 2003 obsession.

For those of you who have not held or seen a Treo 600 in person, all I can say is it will take your breath away…it is that cool, but I have to say that in a weird way, I think this forum and its members are just as cool!!!

    Cheers!!!

    Jake
