This thread IS hilarious! I love this forum! I check it frequently throughout the day also. It really feels like the members here are part of a family. When I go to other geek forums and see familiar faces like gfunkmagic (spreading the word about the Treo 600) , I'm like, "hey! it's my bro!"

In a way, I believe we actually feed each others obsession over this thing, but I consider it a good thing. I have truly never felt so informed about a product before it was even released.

jennyfur, I've actually been shopping around for SD cards also. This must be what an expectant parent must feel like. If I only knew how to knit...

Good news (or maybe not...) I probably am going to get to play with a tr600 tonight at the AUSpug meeting... lets wait and see if that totally infects me..
Toolkit, what happenned to the iQue? From your posts on pdastreet/PIC, it seemed like the ideal pda? Was the battery life (of lack therof) the non-starter?

I frequent this site quite often -- in the a.m. before work and at work in the evening and thena again when I get homel.

I make a round robin to Hiptop.com (for the T-Mobile SideKick -- which I've had since Oct. 2002) -- that particular site has a flavor all its' own and then I go to Treo 600 discussion threads only and then to HipTop Nation (for the blog type stuff).

"....My name is BustAGroove and I'm a TreoAddict..." and the forum says with a heavy sigh and some with glee in their voices, "Hi BustAGroove, we understand and pass no judgment".

I stopped short of buying the memory card, because I didn't know if there would be any sort of a limit to the memory the 600 could address (like only up to a 128MB card). Hopefully there is no such limit, but I have no other devices that use SD cards, so it would only be gathering dust anyway. Perhaps someone here can respond as to whether my concerns are unfounded or not?

I have been meaning to reply to csherman's sig for a while now, and I finally have the opportunity. We do not tip at Starbucks. The jar is there for donations. As one can clearly tell by tasting their coffee, the piddling $5 they charge is not enough for them to afford good coffee beans. If they receive enough charitable contributions, perhaps they will be able to serve a decent cup of coffee. These donations may or may not be tax-dedictable, depending on your accountant
Man... I guess I 'm not alone here... I'm better than you guys... only checking it once a day! AHA!

with the SD card thing, to find out, all you have to do is look at the Zire71. Since it's using the same SDIO chip as Treo600, if Zire71 supports 256MB card, treo should too...

Btw, for anyone who's interested, SD card's selling for $530 in HK. mwahahahaha
Canada is about the same price... just slightly more.
The only reason I haven't bought it is that I am hoping the price will go down in the next 1 month. hehe. Boxing day would be perfect, BUT I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're kidding me right $530 for an SD Card??????

    Hi all!
I've been reading these forums for about a month now keeping up to date on the T600 and I'm sick of waiting!!!!

I was going to wait for the Samsung SGH i500 but who knows when it will be released-I don't think this year by the looks of things

I had a SE P800 and HATED it as I've always been a Palm OS user

This forum is great and as everyone else has said I check it all day!

    Hurry up Orange!!!!!!!

Am I the only one that sometimes takes his Treo to the bathroom only to check whether there's new information on TC?

Well, I suppose it's more productive than just sitting there doing nothing. I HAVE played DopeWars on my Sony Clie before though... hehe! Damn, that game is addictive!

Okay then, is there any information you can give us?

How is the battery, how is the screen in the sun, have you had any trouble with the OS 5.2 apps, what about non-HS apps, how do they work with the 5-way navigator button, have you managed to cause any kind of damage to the screen carrying the thing around, hows the speakerphone quality?

Anything else you might wanna add?

The last time this happened to me was when I was waiting for my Sinclair ZX-80. (For those of you that do not recognize ZX-80, all you really need to know is that there have been a lot of toys since then.)

The HS guys, particularly the sadists in markieting, must be loving this. Should establish them high in the pecking order at PalmOne.

Well, this is definitely too much information, but since we've all come to this new level of closeness, thanks to this great thread... :-)

No you're not alone. My Treo 300 has changed the way I use the bathroom! I now refer to going to the bathroom as "reading the news". I'm constantly on TreoCentral while on the toilet, or I'm on Yahoo! News, or checking the weather. I've sat on the john for over 30 minutes reading a good TC thread.

Thanks to my Treo I've turned "unproductive" time into well... fun unproductive time! I guess good technology changes us in ways we never could of imagined!

Thanks for sharing that with us jinevill! I'm glad I'm not alone.

I'm waiting for a moderator to close this thread. It's becoming too much.

Can't we just go back to discussing the future of headheld computing?
