Will sprint improve their SMS service with the release of the new Treo 600? Or should I say, will sprint have a true SMS service like all the rest of the phone carriers have?

I have a Samsung I330 now and had to pay extra $$ for the SMS program. It works, sometimes!

I like the treo 600 but would like other additions like push-to-talk capabilities and am/fm receivers.. Also, I'd like the ability to insert my type II media card as well as the SD card. I have a 1GB smartdrive that would be quite useful for MP3's..

Sprint PCS plans to have SMS up and running before or when the Treo6 debuts. If you look in the FCC manual it even has instructions on how to use it.

Like others above have already posted, Sprint is apparently working on a MO-SMS solution which the Treo 600 will support. However, the Treo600 will not be upgradable to RL (Sprint's PTT) service. This requires specific hardware requirements that the Treo 600 does not have. As far as FM receivers, there are various soluitons like the iBiz SD Radio which you can use with the Treo600. I seriously doubt we'll ever see type FC slots in the Treo however. IMO, the device is just to small to fit that type of card...
