Has anyone had to buy another battery for their TREO 300? My battery is draining after 5 minutes on the phone and I was wondering if the Sprint store will repair it or do they have to ship it back to the factory.
    Thanks

Have you tried doing a soft reset while it's charging? Sometimes that resets the charging circuits.

Yes did a Hard Reset two days ago. When the battery is full, I get a call and within about 5 minutes it it drained. There has to be someone out there with a answer to the original question.

take it back to the sprint store. They will replace the phone. It does take about 3 days tho. The answer to your original question is NO. The battery is not a servicable component - sprint won't fix it, they will just replace it.

So what you are saying is that the battery cannot be replaced in store, they have to return it to Handspriing and the turn around is three days?
Funny just receive a phone call, took it out of the cradle fully charged and the battery drained (in the red) in less than 5 minutes.
    I guess I can't make calls during the 4th.

You didn't read what I wrote, I asked if you did a soft reset while the Treo was plugged in and charging.

Of course I read what you wrote and yes I did the soft reset and still no good. Guess I will take it to the sprint store, which is 65 miles away.

I've also looked for these, but unfortunately I've not been able to find replacement batteries for the 270/300. For some reason you can buy replacement batteries for the Treo 90 but not the Treo 270/300?

Here's a pic of what the Treo 300 battery looks like. Maybe you can find a similar model online somewhere...

I have a spare battery if you want to try it instead. You'll have to take your Treo apart, which isn't that hard (I did it). Email me if you are interested.

    rmacphee,

Where did you find a spare battery? Can you easily purchase it online somewhere?

I removed it from a bad Treo (the battery was working perfectly). I assume this violates the warranty, so I don't suggest doing this. However, it sounded like a good solution for a2rob.
