Does anyone have any thoughts on how the palm handspring merger will affect future TREO models or phone/pda devices?

only speculation for now, but why would palm buy/merge handspring to kill off the phone.

Unless they just wanted jeff and ed, i don't think they will kill it anytime soon.

In the conference call they noted that they feel the Treo brand is a strong brand, and that it fills in the space missing by palm (a good smartphone). So Palm will keep, and continue to develop the Treo line.

With the merger, the combined company will have support agreements with Sprint, T-Mobile, Cingular, and AT&T. I'm not sure what this means, but it must mean something. How does this compare with Pocket PC OS penetration into the US cellular marketplace?
