I am leaving soon for a vacation in Moscow/St. Petersburg and it's my first time leaving the country (US) with my treo. Will it work in Moscow? Any experieces out there would be helpful!

Nope. You'd have to use a 270. Treo 300 is CDMA and Moscow/St. Petersburg is GSM.

Sprint can get you a GSM SIM card with your U.S. Sprint phone number on it. Sprint rents GSM phones but maybe, just maybe you can stick the SIM in a Treo 270 and it will work. I've known a few business customers that got Sprint's SIM card but used their own phone. If you have an issue though, Sprint is unlikely to be able to help much since the Treo is not a tested phone with their SIM. I must also say, Russis is by far not the cheapest place to go with a Sprint GSM phone. It's $5.20 per minute for all incoming calls and $5.20 + $1.60 for all outgoing calls. Smoking crack, I hear ya. I just wanted to let you know you could take your # with you, if you wanted. Check the link for more info, sorry it's so long.

You need special permission to bring a cell phone into Russia. There was a case a while back of a Qualcomm engineer bringing in a GPS device without permission and going to jail for it. For more information take a look at http://travel.state.gov/gps.html
