"Sprint PCS to Offer Yahoo on Phones
    Thu May 8, 2003 03:57 PM ET
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Customers of Sprint PCS Group PCS.N will soon be able to access e-mail, instant messaging and entertainment information via Yahoo Inc.'s YHOO.O mobile Web site.
The fourth-largest wireless telephone company and the Sunnyvale, California-based Internet media company on Thursday said they signed an agreement to distribute Yahoo services to Sprint PCS cell phone customers, who subscribe to the high-speed Internet service known as Vision.

While Vision customers were previously able to access Yahoo's Internet site by plugging in the Web address, they will now be able to access a site modified for a smaller screen as part of their menu selection, Yahoo said.

'What's significant is that this is the first and most significant suite of services that are available from any of the major portals on the Sprint PCS phone,' said Doug Garland, senior vice president for Yahoo broadband and mobile services.

Yahoo said it will receive a monthly subscriber fee from Sprint PCS for each user, who accesses its services."

What is "Vision Home?" I think this service applies to regular cell phones ... not smartphones such as the Treo.

I have to agre that this is probably for phones other than smartphones, unless the Blazer homepage is updated with a link to the new Yahoo! portal.

This is just a URL that you can either enter in Blazer (http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw?dp=home) or you can just tap on the home button in blazer then select Web Portals then Yahoo.

Yahoo has all of their WAP sties listed at . They *SHOULD* be accessible via Blazer, however I believe they see Blazer as an HTML browser and not WAP. (I have experienced other sites like this.) When you do try to view them, you get a page that just says "error". I would point this out to them, however I can't find a legitimate way to contact them.
