So is anyone using Hotsync these days? I know it's gotta be rare but I've seen folks talk about using it for contacts or a calendar etc. So I'm curious I guess. I have a Windows 8 machine and wonder if it will install and communicate. Perhaps installed in compatibility mode?

I'm using the last Palm Desktop along with Chapura to sync my contacts and calendar (mostly for backup) from my Pre3 onto a laptop running Windows 8.1. No problems with that. It is a wireless setup. (You can't buy the Chapura any longer - they shut down a while ago.)

Haven't tried setting up the cable sync from my old T3 charger setup to sync it to the Palm Desktop under Win 8.1.

    TJs11thPre,

Good idea, but I'm not sure of the viability of that, since there was verification of account status done on the Chapura end at the time of initial syncing (and maybe every sync, not sure). I do know they are not adding any new accounts. Maybe someone else, who knows more about the details can chime in, here.

Also, I only used this app on my Pre+ and Pre3. I do not know whether it would even work on a TP. A quick look at some of the app files leads me to believe it is a a mojo-based app (obviously, if it worked on the Pre+).

    Here you go:
    Palm/Garnet Desktop for Windows PC - Downloads - Aceeca.com

And you'll need Windows 7 drivers:

I had no idea there were x64 drivers for the HotSync program...

I also had no idea that Palm Desktop would sync data from webOS devices.

    Man...

I installed Palm Desktop 6.2 from the Palm servers on my Win 8.1 machine. It installed fine to my surprise. Although I did install it using Win XP SP3 compatibility mode. Then I installed the 64 bit drivers from Aceeca. Everything worked great.
