    Hi,

I am currently working on releasing a new version of TAKEphONE.

This should include a new GUI, with fast access to the Treo speed-dial, voice-mail, call-history...

Also included is SMS support, and better jog-dial and keyboard integration.

    I need ~10 BETA testers.

    Anyone interested ?

Currently trying 4.6.4e . . would love to Beta Test. I use my Treo for business and I have 1700 contacts . . seems to work ok at the moment . . speed-dial access and call history would be great . . . . its tricky to get to the call history in the basic Treo phonebook after the GPRS update.

    Hi,

    Application Description:
    - Find/Create/Edit Address-Book records fast & easy !
    - No-stylus ("One-hand" or "Finger") operation !
    - Dial phone numbers using Cellular / Kyocera 6035 / Samsung SPH-I300 / Handspring Treo/VisorPhone / Other devices !

TAKEphONE is a wrapper for the Palm OS address-book application, designed to enhance & simplify the most common tasks: Finding phone numbers & Creating/editing contacts. These tasks can be done without the use of a stylus, and with just a few taps on the screen.

You can read all about it at my site

Glad to see an update of your software.... I like and use the last one, but wish I could use the treo buttons (jogdial/updown) more efficiently. I'll let ya know what I think!

PS - will it be free for registered users

it is very cool! Works SUPERBLY! Can't wait to learn all the features & functions......Goodbye phonebook!

    OK - 2 questions:

    1. when a call is ended, is there a way to go back to the takephone app??? (mine seems to go to default treo speed dial list)

    2. In general prefs, there is a drop down box for full address record view/edit. But I can't choose anything.

    thanks, Chris

Sorry - no way to get back... It's just the way the interface works right now.

Do you have any address-book s/w other than the built-in one installed ?

    Shimon,

    sorry to sound stupid, but

Is there a readme? or brief manual?

Also, the beta didn't indicate whether I should use the hack or the prc or both?

    Hi there,

I wonder if anybody else can confirm this, but I notice that the following causes the program to crash.

Go to your call history, and select a call and view the details. Now hit the 'Find' button. It appears to find the item, and then crash. Requires a soft reset.

    Anybody else have this problem?

You can download the 4.64 version ZIP at my site

There is a user-manual in the ZIP file. It is not updated for the BETA, but it's a start.

Use the PRC, the hack is only for 'capturing' numbers from other applications for dialing.

    shimon,

Do you plan on having the import feature?

I went to speed/db/import and there is no function.

As a user of keycontacts and pocketmirror, I sync to outlook and there is no way for the handspring phonebook to access that list of contacts. I noticed that Datebook5 does access it though.

More detail, in this same arrangement I am unable to add to speed dial using the lookup feature (option gen/treo pref. "speed-dial: show treo's" is unchecked.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for your great development.

Sorry, but the import is meant for the built-in address-book database categories, so will be useless to you.

    shimon,

I noticed that when trying to add new speed dials, it does lookup using my "keycontacts" list of clients, but does not add the contact when the "add" button is selected.

I realize that "this" limitation, and that of the import function may be a limit of the beta program and not a bug, but wanted you to know.

    thanks,

    I will be buying this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
