I just thought of something that has bugged me for quite a while and I was wondering if you could come up with a solution. I don't know if this bugs anyone else, but when I'm on a call and I get a text message, often times to get back to the phone screen I have to click on the TakePhone hard key and then thumb through all the pages to get back to the PhoneBook app so I can select the current call screen. I know there's a preference to allow the PhoneBook app to be selected, but it must always be the last screen on the rotation. This means I have to hit the phone button 5 times to get the PhoneBook app, and then hit the small icon on screen to get to the current call. Otherwise I can't change volume, mute, end the call, activate the speakerphone, etc.

Would it be possible to add a tab to SpeakerPhone for the current call screen? If not, could you just include a tab for the PhoneBook tab in TakePhone and not have the app force the PhoneBook to the last spot in the rotation?
    Hi,
Sorry - but the external (built-in) app MUST be the last - when I launch it, I have to give up control to it, and I can not control the "Phone" button anymore. The only reason the "tab loop" continues is because you set TAKEphONE to be launched when pressing that "Phone" button.

    I hope this is clear...

OK, well if the phonebook app must be last in the cycle for the reasons you said, would it be at all possible to have a tab on the TakePhone screen or a :menu: L shortcut to go right to it? I know applications can launch other applications, like if you click on a link in an e-mail with Eudora it will launch the Eudora browser. So I thought maybe at least this was possible.

Not sure about a tab - not much room left on the screen
(and DON'T start with - "oh - take that button off, put ......." !)

About a :menu: - let me check...

LOL, I'm not going to start asking you to remove functions to meet my personal requests. I'm not THAT arrogant. But if you could do it simply enough without taking away from what's already there, I'd really appreciate it.

BTW, have you gotten around the problem of the number keys for the D-pad on the Treo 600 emulator?

    Come again ?
Do you mean the NumLock issue - yes.
Actually the same BETA posted at my site works quite well on the Treo 600 (been tested by a person with an actuall device) !

No, not that. I know that works great. Back when you first got the emulator, you told me the number pad was used for the d-pad and it was a pain to use on your laptop because there's no regular number pad like on full size keyboards. I was asking if you got around that.

Yes - I got over that problem.
Turns out the 'Home' button works as the center button.

"I know that works great" - do you have a real Treo 600 ? With TAKEphONE on it ?

No no, I meant the letter dialing works great with my Treo 300. Not many people actually have a 600, and those that do are just testers.

I am not really familiar with this software, but has anyone used the 5.05 beta for this program?

I have not used TAKEphONE yet, but I plan to check it out later today. I read the suport/help file and it looks like exactly what I'm looking for. One thing I didn't see that I'd like to have is the totaling of minutes used for a billing cycle. According to the history log, you can view the time a call lasted, so could the option to total the minutes used withing a billing cycle be added. If this is possible, it would also be great to build in a peak time reference so it could seperate billed minutes and free minutes.

    thanks

    Welcome aboard.
Totalling minutes is not supported currently, but I will support it
sometime in the future (once I define it correctly)

I must say my first impression of this software is very good. I did notice however that when I exited a call, I was put back into the default Treo 600 phone app. At this point I haven’t touch nor looked at the options in takephone, so I hope I can adjust this.

Yes - I know about that.

I'm afraid the s/w interface I have for dialing the Treo 600 does not allow TAKEphONE to keep/regain control after starting the call.

So - for now all I can say is - TAKEphONE is always a button push away...

If you are using the Treo 600 (OS-5), then the tkplushack124 file has no use for you - it is a hack, which is not operable under OS-5.

Maybe it's just me - I can't open it. It's saying corrupted or invalid file.
