I set up my voicemail at my company call me when someone leaves a message, so it calls me & says.. you have a message, to listen please press 1 for other options press 2 ect. So I'm trying to press either, it won't respond.

But how is that related to TAKEphONE ?
Do you see TAKEphONE's screen then ?

What happens if you are in another app (say the calendar) when the call comes in ?

I don't know, but it just started lately so I assumed that its something you did in the last few beta versions. I also realized, the "0" does work...

    I will rephrase my question:
You say your voicemail system is calling you, and you can not press "1" to listen, etc.

What I am trying to understand is TAKEphONE's roll in all this -
when you do get that incoming call from the voicemail system, do you see a dialog made by TAKEphONE ? Is that the one blocking your key presses ?

Please describe what you see on screen when the call comes in, and when you press the "1" that does not work.

    Thanks.

This is something I am just assuming that it has to do with TP, because I didn't install ANYTHING the last 2 weeks exept upgrades of the betas that you gave. So I can't tell 100% that it's TP I am just assuming, because it never happened before...

So I would like to get to the bottom of this.

Can you answer the questions above ?

BTW - would you rather take this up in emails ?

    Hi,

Correct me if I am wrong:

When you have an incoming call, you are taken to the built-in PHONE app's "Current calls" screen.

(Note: TAKEphONE does NOTHING on the incoming call event, but rais some internal flag)

In that screen, you now can not press "1", etc. - only "0" works.
Could it be a keyboard mode issue ? (OPTION locked on alpha)

Yes, it goes to the built in current call mode, maybe it IS a keyboard lock issue, but I don't have anything installed that should do it.

I've got a dumb question for you. Do I need to have the full version of TAKEPhone installed in order to take advantage of the dial from anywhere feature enabled by the OS-5 Extension? Or can I just have the extension installed which doesn't seem to do anything for me.

OK, did you try pressing the OPTION button to change alpha mode ?

I do not think it has something to do with TAKEphONE, but why don't you remove TAKEphONE (and anything else related), and see if this constinues ?

Let me know if you do...

    Thanks for your patience.

    Yes - you do.

If all you need is to mark and then dial - you can use "mark'n'dial" by www.pdaapps.com

Except that Palm OS 5 no longer supports hacks which is requred by mark n'dial. Any other ideas? For now, I am only in need of an app that will let me mark and dial. Thanks.

    Shimon,

Can you set up the hack so that I can use it even if I don't have Takephone set to "launch with phone button"? (i.e. someother keystroke that can also luanch the dialer after highlighting)

I love the program but do not use it as my default dialer... So presssing the phone key after highlighting a number in say the date book or memo pad doesn't do anything. (Unless I change the option in Takephone to lauch with phone button first.

I have had this as the only need that the program doesn't fullfill since I started using it in November?

This is critical since I am sure that many people use the key feature of inserting a call into their date-book and if they dont have the takephone app using the phone key, they cannot easily dial it.

    Todah Rabbah Lecha!

    Two options here:

    1. A free utility BUT requires TAKEphONE to make the call.
Similar to today, only you will not have to have the PHONE button assigned to TAKEphONE.
Pressing the PHONE button when there is a highlighted number will launch TAKEphONE to dial, if no number highlighted - the built-in dialer will popup.

    2. A utility to work even if no TAKEphONE exists on the device.
This will cost money. $9.95 sounds fair ?
