    OK.

Some debugging is in order here...

Anyone willing to help - install this one (rememer - first DISABLE previous version) and try - let me know what you see for incoming calls, outgoing calls...

    Thanks !

    Hi all,

This worked perfectly on the Treo 270, but seems not to be working on the Treo 600.

Not having a real device makes it hard to debug now, so - I will get back to it later.

Please remove the "TAKEphONE Dialer Extension" (first disable it )

TAKEphONE 5.05m 99v1 is a valid version regardless.

    Sorry for the inconvinience...

I can confirm that the Capture Extension works beautifully with TreoSelecText.

the new version of the extension still doesn't work on my t600. I'mstill returned to the phone app after ending a call.
Pity, this was the missing link, which keeps me from using TP all the time. As it is I only use it for searching....

While I'm on it: if I remember well a while ago there was supposed to be a version of TP that solved the following:
When I press a shortcut key assigned to one of the speed-dials/favorites the phone call is only made when I *release* the key and not after the timeout/long key press as the phone app.

    Hi Simon,

Just another suggestion. I've got TakePhone mapped to the "phone" button on a Treo600. The button cycles through the find screen, the favorites screen, and the dial/create screen. It does not go to the native phone app.

When I place or answer a call, I get taken to the native call screen with the "hangup", "speaker", "extra digits", etc. If I go into another app while the call is live -- like the contacts app or the mail app, there is no easy way to get back to the native call screen to hang up the call or press a DTMF key for a voicemail system.

It might be useful to have an option like "Phone button goes to native call screen when call is active"

    Thanks,

    Hi,

As I said - it does not work (although it did on my Treo 270).
Anyway - remove it (disable it first)
I will get back to trying that...

Regarding the HotKeys - it SHOULD work after a2-3 seconds press. I will check that, too, once I get my hands on a device.

I'm still getting a delay on some speed dial entries (spacebar). I'm trying to figure out what is parrticular about the ones that are delayed. So far, I found that entires with more than one email address are delayed. Is it possible to speed these up as before in a previous build?

Can someone tell me why they use TakePhone? What features do you need in it that the standard HS phone app does not provide? I have demo-ed TakePhone twice and deleted it each time because it interfered with some very useful HS phone app features. TakePhone just seems overly complex. Maybe I have not spent enough time playing with it.

The delay will show up on every entry the s/w can not match the NAME field - it need to look through ALL address-book entries for number/email match...

I think I understand that, but entries with one email address popup quickly, those with two 2-3 seconds.

Are you saying you have an entry with a name from the address-book, and an email address - it pops up quickly, but if that SAME entry has two email addresses - it take time ?

Not exactly. If one contact has only one email address vs. a different contact with 2 email addresses. Also, I tried testing a single "slow to pop-up" contact that had 2 email addresses, removing one of the email addresses, then comparing the pop up speed. They seemed the same, i.e., slow, regardless of the number of email addresses (last name begins with 'G.'). So, I'm not sure what this all means, except that is not a major problem, but that the built-in phone app that TP is supposed to replace has better performance on this tool.

Looking into this more it also seems that contacts with last names beginning with later letters of the alphabet are slower to pop up than those with last names that begin with earlier letters. I suppose that is consistent with the fact that TP has to search the whole DB, from letter A, though this is not an issue for the built-in?

FYI: the delay can be as much as 3 seconds.

Can we choose the format or even from a couple of formats.

    Personally Id prefer

Can you give me an example of such a NAME - how it is stored in the favorites, and how it is stored in the contacts ?

Not only does it handle commas (,) - it can also handle 'hard' pauses ('p' or 'x') within the extra-digits, enabling full use of TAKEphONE to call IVR's, calling-cards, etc.

e.g. - say you want to call the number "1234p567,89p01" :

    - With the buitl-in app:
    1. You can only do this from favorites, NOT from the address-book.
    2. Number will be dialed - "1234", then you tap "Extra-Digits" button, then "567" is dialed, the comma causes a short delay, "89" is dialed, then second 'p' is handled as a longer pause.

    - With TAKEphONE:
    1. You can use this number in favorites AND the address-book !
    2. Number is dialed - "1234", the you need to press "Continue", then "567" is dialed, the a 2 seconds delay, then "89", the you are propted again (REAL hard pause) to continue dialing the "01".
