Sorry if this has been discovered already, but I'm overjoyed right now. Go to http://www.aol.co.uk/aim/palm/ and you can download AIM for free (for the Palm).

I've played around with it for a lil bit and it's totally awesome! This is exactly what I need! With Unlimited PCS Vision, this is probably one of the best features on my phone now!

Don't mean to burst your bubble of excitement but be careful w/this file as it has done a number on the treo 300's. If you search the forum for AIM you can get more details on the issues.

    I still recommend Verichat!

Ok, so I did some research on this forum with regards to AIM for the Treo and now I know what some of the problems have been for past users. When exactly does that data error occur? Does it only happen when you leave yourself signed on AIM and switch to another program? So far, I haven't had that happen to me and I'm using the UK version 1.0.

Strange, but I didn't even know there was a US version on freewarepalm.com. From what I've read on the board about the US version vs the UK version, I guess I'm glad I downloaded the UK version. Luck of the draw I guess!

The first time I heard that there was AIM for Palm users was when I randomly went to the Handango site. Ridiculous, $19.95 for AIM when I've been using it for free on my PC/laptop for years? Yeah right!

Was using AIM for Palm for quite some while with nary a problem, then just late last week, WHAM ! Multiple hard resets later, I think I have it figured out.

I think it will work OK as long as you do NOT leave the AIM application while you are still logged in. That is the only thing I did differently during my last usage, so be careful !

Which version are you using? I'm using the UK version (v 1.0 I believe) and it still hasn't given me any problems. I've done what you've done before (e.g. switching applications while AIM is still logged on), but I haven't experienced any problems

I am using version 1.1 build 5 on a Treo 300. I did not have problems for quite a while, but just recently did. It may also involve something else that triggers the hard resets...just know that it really put a damper on my weekend

I believe 1.1 is the US version, but I'm not 100% sure. I read (on a thread here) that the UK version might be more reliable.
