    Hi,

I have been waiting decent SMS app from very first day when I bought my Treo 180G. Finally I discovered maxTEXT !
    http://www.maxtext.net/index.html

However, after inital excitement, I have discovered some major problems :

    0. I installed V1.29. It crashed my Treo everytime I tried to check my inbox. I gave-up and deinstall it. When I discovered V1.30 is out, I wanted to give it another try (specially because of new multiple recipient feature..
But, I can't use it at all because because I got trial expiration message ?!

1, I tried installing on my friends Treo180. It seems very promising, but it stills crashes ? Is there a known stability problem ?

    2. Finger dial feature is not powerfull enough. Compared to TakePhone http://www.shsh.com/index.html, specially given the price difference !

However, I find it very promising but stabilty issue is major problem for me !

I tried maxTEXT on my Treo 270 and it worked OK. My biggest angst with maxTEXT is that it does not allow regular email address, only phone numbers. The SMS custom-installed on Treo DOES work with regular email addresses. So I ditched maxTEXT.
