I see that as of 9/11/02 AOL has a new Version 3.0 for Palm. Before I go and spend $19.99 on it, I'd like to find out if anyone is using it. How well does it work?

Am I seeing it right that there are 2 different products - aol for palm for $19.99 and AIM for another 19.99?

AOL 3.0 works good. It's just like using the pc version. The nice feature that was added to 3.0 is the ability to use another ISP to connect to AOL. This way your not using an AOL dial up number.
Palmgear has also recently posted the AIM client (free) on their web site. There is a discussion thread here recently that talks about it. Apparently it's the UK version which has been working for most.

I'm using the aim 2.0 version that can be downloaded for free.
I use it daily and it works like a charm. I couldn't live without it any more. I'm in constant contact with my business partner when we are bot on the road or one is on the road and the other is using the aim PC version. Great product.

Where did you get AIM 2.0? Did you mean AOL 2.0?
If so, yes it works good exept AOL 3.0 works much better.
Can't get AOL 2.0 for free anymore as it has been replaced w/3.0 @ $19.95!

    For AIM 1.1 go here

And for AIM 1.0 go here
    http://www.aol.co.uk/aim/palm/index.html
I have not compared the U.K. AIM 1.1 with the U.S. AIM 1.1. The U.K. AIM 1.1 seems to have been posted just on 12/04.02 so it appears new.
also free AOL 2.0 for palm free here

Updated I installed the supposed UK 1.1 and it is actually still the 1.0 UK version.

I have AOL 3.0 and can't get My AOL to work. Says I need Palm Web Clipper. I searched all over Palm sites--Handmark, Handango, etc.--and can't find that program. Does anyone know exactly what I need to load on my Treo 300 to get My AOL to work. I can connect fine, read email, use buddy list, but can't get My AOL stuff. Thanks

Thanks. If you have had to reply to this 100 times, I'm surprised the AOL support didn't have a clue when I called them several times. Thanks again. I should have searched all the threads to see if this had been addressed.

aol 3.0 works great you need web clippings to use my aol but you can retrieve your mail and buddy list without the web clippings. as far as aim goes this is very unstable lots of posts regarding data mgr error. i used the uk version runs better but i still find it unstable, you are much better off waiting for verichat from pdaapps it is in beta but works fantastically. i have been using it as a beta tester and must say it is worth the wait.

Important step that I just learned to finally get My AOL to work. You need to add the following instructions for Treo 300 running Palm OS 3.5, or else just running the web clipper software won't allow you to use My AOL.

"People with PalmOS 3.x will need to go into the Prefs and open up the new menu item called Wireless, click on the IP address displayed and in the dialog box that pops up hit default."
