I like the form factor of the 6800..... but I would rather have the big screen on the 9290.

The 6800 looks cool, but it's not a tri-mode world phone. In other words, the phone isn't intended for the US market.

No PDA on that thing. I want something more robust than the Treo(mine keeps crashing with no hacks installed) which is a full PDA/Phone combo.

What you need is an Ericsson P800 or an Orange SPV

    I can't find it on tmobile's website.

    Thanks,

The sony ericsson p800 is not out yet. You can find a review on mobile.burn.com

It's unknown which carriers will carry the phone yet, but it is a tri-band GSM phone - 900/1800/1900 so it will work all over the world.

    Check http://www.expansys.com

They have all the latest devices, good fact-sheet and their rates are quite OK (they ship worlwide - they even have a US-dedicated site to answer local specificities), considering they are based in the UK!

I forgot to add to my previous thread:

I bought from them already and they are quite reliable and responsive!

    That makes a big difference...

The Sony/Ericsson does look GORGEOUS and has everything that I want in a Smartphone -- except one feature. It has a decent screen, a decent OS (those who've read my other posts will know I'm a Symbian advocate -- it was the Treo's design, not PalmOS, that sold it to me) and it's nice and portable.

But it doesn't have a keyboard!

So it's the Treo for the foreseeable future then... Ho hum.

I have to agree that the P800 is gorgeous and would be enough to make me switch to GSM from Sprint PCS, but I know I would miss the keyboard on my Treo 300.

    Oh well.

Try the TMo XDA. Removing the TMo software makes it stable.

    Hi,

I don't have the slightest clue to what you're saying(TMo XDA)?

    Can you please explain.

    Thanks,

So sorry! I was referring to this device, the T-Mobile PocketPC Phone Edition:

    http://www.t-mobile.com/products/ove...phoneid=163904

It's made by HTC, the same company that manufactures the iPaq for Compaq. It then gets rebranded by carriers around the world (e.g. O2 in the UK). It is quite an amazing device. Lots of information can be learned by reading this review:

    http://www.davesppcphone.com/tmobile.htm

    and in the forums here:

    http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/default.htm

I did a bunch of research, and tried a friends for a weekend (I let him use my Treo 270! - he wanted to kill me by the end of the weekend...though in fairness more b/c he was not used to the Palm OS than anything else). I got a great deal from T Mobile on the device, so I bought one! Happy as a clam.
