    No color. No Palm OS. Only 200 "anytime" minutes (and 35 cents/min thereafter), with no other plans available. No thanks.

    Does the hiptop have a touchscreen? thought I read that it didn't... all keyboard input?

    yes, if you use the phone a lot this is not a good deal, BUT you get all the data you can eat also...all of that for $40! I have only made 2 calls with mine since Monday when I got it....e-mail works great.
    There is no touchscreen but believe me, there is no need. You use the scrollwhell to move between applications and even links in web pages...it's quite convenient.

    Any idea whether I could connect this device to a Powerbook and use as a wireless data modem?

    There is not a way to use the Sidekick as a wireless data modem on either a Mac or Windows PC.
