Sorry if this question has already been posted elsewhere, but I didn't see it after a cursory look.

Something is missing that seems blatantly obvious to me: there's no "New Message" indicator light, nor equivalent. If the phone is sitting there and you've been away, you have to turn the phone on to find out if you missed a call. It seems like the red/green LEDs could have been used for this feature, but no.

Anybody else notice this issue, or am I just being too picky?

I agree....a red indicator light at the top instead of the blinking green would have been nice. I wonder if they can create software (hack?) to accomplish this..

Thanks, I'll give that a shot when I get home. It should be a free upgrade from Handspring, though.

A beta version (v0.3b) of TreoAlertMgr with support for the Treo 300 is now available at. Be sure to download this version for use on a Treo 300.

    http://www.pdaapps.com/

This application will repeatedly alert you for missed SMS, calls, voicemail or TreoMail alerts. It will also vibrate on Datebook events (if you choose) even if the ringer is not muted.
