OK, on a whim I tried to activate my new Treo via Sprint PCS's web site.

Here's what I did:
  1. I selected the Activate your new phone link
  2. I entered that I wanted to add an additional phone to my account or switch my phone number to a new phone.
  3. I then entered my existing phone number and password

I then received the following response from their registration system:

Online Activations is currently unavailable, please try again later.

Other ways to activate your phone include:
  • If you are in one of our Sprint PCS retail stores, use the nearest Customer Solutions phone.
  • Activate by dialing *2 Talk on your new Sprint PCS phone.
  • Activate by calling 1-888-201-4821 from your home or office phone.

Because you attempted to activate your Sprint PCS Phone using this web site, you are eligible for a $10 credit on your second Sprint PCS bill. When you call to activate, please inform the Sprint PCS Representative that you attempted to activate online and request the $10 credit be applied to your account.
