I just deleted graffiti... and I was wondering if that would be OK since I have tealscript... just wondering. If not, how do I get graffiti back? Thanks!

What you deleted was the Graffiti Demo app which is nothing more than a how-to tutorial. The actual Graffiti functionality cannot be removed from the device. I believe that apps like TealScript supplement or override the built-in Graffiti.

Okay, so what if you deleted it and want it back? I was using Jot, but it caused too much trouble. I deleted the Graffiti demo, and can't find it in my backup or archive directory, on either computer I sink with. It's gone and I can't remember how to make a k! Help!

    TIA

Hold your stylus in the graffiti area of your Visor and drag it to the top of the screen, a new screen will come up showing how letters are made.

If you know anyone else with a Visor or Palm, they can beam the Graffiti.prc file over to you. Another option (a last resort, actually) is a hard reset.

As for that K... check the attachment.

Smacking myself in the forehead. Of course! Why didn't I think of that.

    Thanks!

There are some graffiti help pics and files on the www. I'm a little lazy and am not searching them out and posting links but there are around.

One comes to mind is EZBackdrop or something close, their webpage has some background art w/ graffiti help. Do a google on PalmOS graffiti help and go from there.

"k" ain't so hard for me but that "y" can be a killer.

If you use a Backup Module or Backup Buddy, doing a hard reset is really no big deal and the graffiti app will still be there after the restore, even if it's not in your backup.

Doh!!! I always forget about that one.

Actually, I've always assumed that was part of the Graffiti demo app and not built-in to the OS itself. Like they say, you learn something new everyday. For the record, I deleted the Graffiti.prc file from my Vdx and tried the drag-the-stylus thingy just to be sure

Uhm, yeah, and that reminded me. I have a CF Memplug. Sure enough, right there in my backup directory, Graffiti.prc. I hate it when I forget the obvious!

Thanks for everyone's help, though. This board is great!

Another way to get the Graffiti Demo application back is to run the Welcome application. After resetting the digitizer and optionally the time and date, you will find that the Graffiti application has reappeared on your PalmOS device.

Try the alternative form, basically take the 'k' and rotate it 90 degrees.
