I am a new Verizon Centro owner. I have noticed a few times that when I press the email button to check mail, I get a dialogue box saying something like "in order to complete this action you must connect to the internet". I hit the OK button, and it connects. My question is, why does it disconnect in the first place? Is there a setting somewhere that shuts off the broadband radio or connection after some period of inactivity? I would like to keep the broadband conection on at all times,as I have set up push email from Gmail, and have missed emails (sue to this loss of connection) when I assumed the Centro was receiving them.

I think you will need a 3rd party solution like Butler or Powerhero to keep your web connection active. I have never found a timeout setting on my Centro and mine also will time out after a period of inactivity.

The positive side of this behavior is that it does save some battery life which would be/is shorter if the internet connection is always live
