Vindigo, the best application yet built for local search, has apparently died at the hands of some MBA dolts that blew it. I'm pissed - it was the fastest, easiest and most useful *offline* local search tool for movies, restaurants, bathrooms, directions and shopping , bar none. Even the iPhone and all its flashiness has yet to produce anything nearly as useful as good old Vindigo. Please - can anyone prove me wrong here? I'd continue to pay a $25/yr subscription for their ugly but brilliant interface if I could, what have people settled on to replace all that functionality in one application? (prefer PalmOS, but itouch options are alright, too).
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.

Google maps usually finds most anything for me. They also have a service that works through texts, if you don't have a data plan.
