why can't Centro users just use the WINMOB EAS settings? has anyone tried it?

    Getting Started
    1. Open the Active Sync application on your device's home screen.
    2. Click the link Set up your device to sync with it.
    3. Enter m.google.com as the server address.
    4. Ensure that the SSL option is checked.
    5. Click Next.
    6. Enter your full Google Account email address as the User name.
    7. Enter your Google Account password as the Password.
    8. Leave the Domain field empty. If your device requires you to enter a domain name, enter google.
    9. Click Next.
    10. Check only Contacts and Calendar.
    11. Click Finish.

You set up EAS in Versamail.

Thank you for the tips, but I am still not getting it to work.

    Here is my setup:

    Account Name: Google
    Email Address: abcdefg@google.com
    Password: XXXXXX
    Mail Type: Outlook (EAS)
    Username: abcdefg@googlemail.com
    Mail Server: m.google.com

    Incoming Port Number: 443
    Use SSL - Yes
    Proxy Server # 80

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks! I appreciate the help!

It can't work since the Centro requires mail to sync (on the first sync) and Google is not providing email (at this time) through their ActiveSync connector.

I really hope they add it soon! And I bet they are working on it because I believe that would be huge for enterprise users of GoogleMail to be able to ActiveSync their mobile devices.

I'm also trying to get this to work the same way. Any way to 'trick' the centro into thinking it's getting mail. I just need the contacts and calendar to be synced.

I tried and tried, and could not find a solution or work around. Very disappointing!
