Forgive me as I am a Palm OS noob (Windows Mobile for 3 years). My wife wants my Centro since her Instinct will be for sale soon. I want to delete all the contacts and install all of hers. For some reason you cannot delete contacts one at a time.

You can delete them one at a time if you want.

To do a hard reset, just remove the battery, hold down the red power button, and replace the battery while continuing to hold the button down. When logo shows up, let go and hit the up button as prompted to delete all data.

To delete one at a time, you do have to click on the contacts name to open it and then press the menu button and then delete. It is a pain and Alli's way is much easier if you have a lot of contacts and want to give your wife a new Centro.

Wiped it with the hard reset option. Thanks for the help.

She loves the phone. My 9 year old son wants a red one to replace his Sanyo M1. I will find another one for me as a back up again.

Well we give him goals for school to where he will get gifts. His first honor roll he got a PS3. The second time he got my Sanyo M1. Third time he got a flat screen HD TV (Christmas time). He makes it again and will get the Centro.

I'm with you on that one. A 9 year old needs a phone why? And a smartphone at that?

A 9 year old with a flat screen HDTV and now a Centro? I'd better stay off this post before I say something that will get me in trouble....

He is a very active kid and does require a cell phone. The Centro is $49 and with a shared Simply Everything plan the cost is minimal.

As long as he makes the honor roll with outstanding grades he will continue to get perks. When he screws up I will inherit the toys.

Sprint is sending me a replacement Centro as the Red Power Button no longer works. I need to send the broken Centro back to them but without the Red Power button, I don't know how to do a Hard Reset. Any way to wipe the Centro clean without the use of the Red Button ??

    Thanks !

Heck, my 12 year is as busy as a young person can be, and he doesn't have/need a cell phone and has been on the honor roll since he started school. Your just setting up your nine year old to be disappointed in the real world. Think how long an average person would have to work to get a HDTV, that is in no way equitable to making the honor roll in third grade. Prepare yourself for a failure to launch.

Got to a store and price out a 26" HDTV, its around $240-$329 (depending on brand). It's a great Christmas gift for a respectfull, gratefull, A student. Don't tell me how to raise my kids as I would never tell you how to raise yours.

As far as I know it is the only way to wipe it.

With all due respect, you did volunteer the information in a public forum, and then defended it.

A buck says you haven't said "no" to your kid and meant it in years....but that's a topic for another day

Do a hard reset and it will wipe the Centro clean

I had the same problem. There are programs that will let you force a hard reset, but I can't find the program I used and I don't remember it, sorry! It was a while ago. However, look through the freeware sites, it was a free program, and it forced the hard reset...
