I AM REPLACING MY PALM ( SPRINT) 700p WITH ANOTHER ONE ( THE PHONE CONNECTION IS DAMAGED( I CAN'T HOT SYNC NOR CONNECT TO LAPTOP WITH PDANET )
HOW DO I TRANSFER MY PROGRAMS FROM THE OLD PHONE TO THE NEW ONE ?
I BELIEVE I HAVE A BACK-UP PROGRAM ON THE OLD PHONE.
I GUESS I NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE SPRINT STORE TO TRANSFER MY SERVICE TO THE NEW PHONE ( ? ) OR CAN THIS BE DONE ON THE PHONE ?
    MANY THANKS

If the old phone powers on and you have a memory card, donwload a program called nvbackup (it's a free download on opensourcepalm.com). it will let you backup up the entire filesystem and restore it to the new phone. You just need a memory card with some free space. ~60mb.

is it better to use one of these backup programs as opposed to reinstalling via hotsync?
hotsync would work to reinstall , correct?
