Presumably this is directed at new users, so maybe you should follow your own suggestion?

eh... I'll bite . Here is a quick list of the few I use every day:

    - TAKEphone (NOT free, demo available)
Replaces the original phone and contacts programs

    - TouchLauncher (NOT free for full functionality, demo available)
Replaces "Home" screen with a customizable one to launch your programs from. Yea, its a iPhone look-a-like launcher, but it works beautifully and greatly helps one-hand usage.

    - The Core Pocket Media Player, a.k.a. TCPMP (Free)
One of the best media players I have found for the PalmOS. It plays movies, videos, music, etc. with support for many formats. I use it mostly for watching movies on the go.

    - DiddleBug (Free)
There are many programs that do this trick, but I've used this one for quite some time now. It simply allows you to write directly on the screen to take notes, draw pictures, whatever you want to do. You can set alarms to the scribblings as well to remind you at the set time and categorize them if you end up with a few too many scribbles .
