Just downloaded 7.60 (001) to my Treo 680 via the SMS procedure. Seemed to go smoothly.

Any changes between this version and the last 7.55 (xx) Beta release?

The ibar shortcuts for applications on the card is a great addition. Btw, I didn't get any resets with the previous beta (Alltel 650).

When I was playing around with it, I noticed the same option is there to create a launcher shortcut. That would be a GREAT option to have, because it allows you to put shortcuts in the Palm standard launcher (or 3rd party add-ons, and organize them by category.

Well, it allowed me to create the shortcut, but when I tried to launch the shortcut from the Palm launcher, it got stuck in a loop and I had to reset to get out of it

If it's not TOO complicated, you might consider adding that ability ... you'd be adding functionality to Takephone that many people are paying $ for programs whose ONLY function is to create a launcher shortcut.

Have a great vacation, Shimon. You've earned it!!

Ok, just changed from beta 004 to 005, and now I AM getting resets when trying to add to ibar from SD card. Previous beta, 004, worked fine. Strange, because it seems to be the opposite for others.

    Hi,

You mean only when creating a shortcut to an app on the sd card, right ?

    Hi,

bclinger & mcentreville - will you help me debug this ?

    Get a test build from
    http://www.shsh.com/beta/tkph760_999.prc
    or
    http://www.shsh.com/beta/tkph760_999.zip

It will display a serie of debug messages whenever you select the card. Let me know at what stage does the reset occur.

(best is if you let me know via email)

    Thanks.

Bug report: under the internet search, Custom 2 keeps having its name reverting to Custom2 rather than what I have typed in. I don't know if that also applies to the serach feature or not. I'm in a basement with no cell reception. I'll test it out at lunch.

Yes. It works fine when creating a launcher shortcut to a phone number. But when choosing an application from card, and then creating a launcher shortcut, and then selecting that shortcut from the launcher, it gets into a loop.

I just checked. The functionality of the button was fine. IT just showed the wrong name on the button.

I did discover another issue but I haven't been able to reproduce it. I happened to have the html address in blazer highlighted and when I entered TP, it asked me what to do with it. I cancelled and got a reset. Tried a few minutes later and it didn't do it again. Not sure if this was a random fluke.

I have not done the search, but the addition of applications from the card - did it again 4 more times today and no resets.

As for the search - I just played for about 10 minutes and no resets and it is keeping the values entered. This with the one sent last night. Ben

I'm not certain if its just me - or my centro- or what but I've redownloaded Takephone again and reinstalled it but it will NOT alow me to input any of the dialpad "codes" that will give me specific palm device info- such as the ##37789# to supposedly show all third party apps. I input the code and its supposed to automatically process the information, but it does nothing!

While working with a sprint tech a few days agao, the same thing happened with another code input. Once I deleted Takephone - the code worked!

I'm a bit leery of a program that doesn't allowthe device to run its own codes. Yes, I even tried the codes from the Centor's own dial pad, not Takephone's.

I've also dwowloaded Takephone from different sites thinking maybe I got a corrupted file. Last night I downloaded another trial version over the air. This makes three installs!

Anyone have any ideas or run into the same thing?
I like many of the things Takephone offers, but if I cannot run codes as needed then this app isn't serviceable.

    Cheers,
    Kim
This PRE is MINE all MINE! But if you ask nice I might let you hold it!

The feature is available only from the default dialer and being a Takephone user for many, many years, I find it rare that I ever have a need to do the ##### stuff. There really are better ways of getting around the device other than the ## solution - I doubt many of us can remember all of those codes. Some you will use and most you will not.

    Hi,

Thanks for your interest in TAKEphONE.

Afraid there's nothing I can do about this - the Palm OS interface for making calls on the Treo does not allow for the device codes to be "dialed".

You can only use those codes from the built-in PHONE application - it will not work from ANY 3rd party app.

You can get to the built-in PHONE app from within TAKEphONE by pressing Menu+. (dot)

    Thanks.

Interestingly enough, you cannot even use the codes as favorites in the native phone app. You can only get to them by dialing them directly into the dialpad.

Hmmmmm.......... I can add an app from my card on the i-Bar, but it won't allow me to "Create launcher shortcut" for that app. I get this message:
Can not create a shortcut to an application It doesn't matter if I choose an app on my phone or card.

But no biggie for now............ I know you're getting ready for your vacation Shimon. Have fun!!! (And bring me back a Smiley Face souvenir, LOL!)
